This long beach of golden granite sand in the north west of Yakushima is one of the island's most beautiful beaches. Unfortunately, it is not a designated swimming beach due to its sudden depth and fast current. There is no lifeguards so you swim at your own risk.

Inakahama and its neighbouring beach Maehama are not only popular with sightseers, they are also the largest nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles in the Asia Pacific region and an important nesting ground for green sea turtles. The turtle nesting season spans from May to August with a peak of over 40 nesting females visiting the beach per night. Baby turtles usually hatch between July and October. Due to its special status as a vital habitat for endangered species, the beaches of Nagata are on the Ramsar list of protected wetlands. Volunteers keep the beach clean and protect the nesting sites.

Encompassing 100 km of the coastline in southern Miyazaki Prefecture, the “Nichinan Coast” is a beautiful, expansive quasi-national park. Popular as an uplifting driving course, the colorful flora will remind you of tropical places.
The Beach Ishinami Kaigan faces a tiny island Koojima 幸島サル生息地 where a group of monkeys apparently rinse their food in the ocean and enjoy the food afterward.
Anyway that scenic spot is worth to be visited.

桜島・ 鹿児島県 Sakurajima, Kagoshima Japan

Kagoshima 鹿児島県 Prefecture at the southwestern tip of the island of Kyushu in Japan, and the largest city in the prefecture by some margin. It has been nicknamed the Napoli of the Eastern world for its bay location, hot climate, and impressive stratovolcano, Sakurajima.
Sakurajima 桜島 is an active composite volcano and a former island of the same name in Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyūshū, Japan. The lava flows of the 1914 eruption caused the former island to be connected with the Osumi Peninsula.
The volcanic activity still continues, dropping large amounts of volcanic ash on the surroundings. Earlier eruptions built the white sands highlands in the region.
Sakurajima is a composite mountain. Its summit is split into three peaks, Kita-dake, Naka-dake and Minami-dake which is active now.
Today's Kita-dake is Sakura-jima's highest, rising to 1,117 m above sea level. The mountain is located in a part of Kagoshima Bay known as Kinkō-wan. The former island is part of the city of Kagoshima.
