The Congost of the Mont Rebei is one of the most stunning places we've hiked through so far! This deep canyon with the turquoise water at the bottom mark the border between Aragon and Catalonia.
Last year during our second preparation trip, we met Luis in the Refuge of Goriz, we even interviewed him and this time we met him at his place with his family!
We also attended a bull run in the streets of the village of Luna! A deep dive in the Spanish culture during the 2018 Fiestas de la Primavera.

American Battle Monument Cemetery in Ardennes, Belgium
This video presents a brief narrated tour of Ardennes American Cemetery's landscaped grounds, architecture, and works of art.
The approach drive at Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium leads to the memorial, a stone structure bearing on its façade a massive American eagle and other sculptures. Within are the chapel, three large wall maps composed of inlaid marbles, marble panels depicting combat and supply activities and other ornamental features. Along the outside of the memorial, 462 names are inscribed on the granite Tablets of the Missing. Rosettes mark the names of those since recovered and identified. The façade on the far (north) end that overlooks the burial area bears the insignia, in mosaic, of the major U.S. units that operated in northwest Europe in World War II.
The 90-acre cemetery contains the graves of 5,329 of our military dead, many of whom died in the 1944 Ardennes winter offensive (Battle of the Bulge). The headstones are aligned in straight rows that form a Greek cross on the lawns and are framed by tree masses. The cemetery served as the location of the Central Identification Point for the American Graves Registration Service of the War Department during much of the life of the Service.
The cemetery is open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except December 25 and January 1. It is open on host country holidays. When the cemetery is open to the public, a staff member is on duty in the Visitor Building to answer questions and escort relatives to grave and memorial sites.

Pvt HR van Rensselaer was killed 9 November, 1918, 2 days before WWI ended. He is buried in the St Mihiel
American Cemetary near Thiaucourt (M. et M.), France. Does anyone have any information on this man? He is probably related to my step-great-grandfather, so I went to see his grave.
Paris - The City of Light (HD Teaser CC-BY-SA-NC-Track Benjamin Trancart)
Paris, City of Light doesn't mean the city with a lot of beautiful lights but, rather, the city where, during the eighteenth century, the lights of science (with the biologists like Buffon or Jussieu and with the encyclopedy writers like Diderot or d'Alembert) and the lights of philosophy (Voltaire, Rousseau, Condorcet, Montesquieu, ...) have been lit.
Here's a selection of recent timelapses shot mostly in Paris during the last months. Those shots have been taken at spare times, night time, getting obsessed with the Stage 0 dolly from Dynamic Perception.

The Frightful Pathway | Congost de Mont-Rebei
The Frightful Pathway | Congost de Mont-Rebei
The Frightful pathway between Catalonia and Aragon, Spain, the River Noguera Ribagorçana passes through the Serra del Montsec mountain system, creating a beautiful hiking destination called Congost de Mont-Rebei. A stunning views and frightful pathways through an ecological paradise. The Mont-rebei Gorge natural space covers a surface area of about 600 hectares. In April 14, 2005, the Congost de Mont-Rebei was declared a Wildlife Refuge. Walking between towering cliffs and vertiginous landscapes. For a few meters, the road is literally carved into the rock, hanging from the cliffs. The route, which coincides with the GR-1, is protected by railings and benches to regain strength and enjoy the spectacular views. The walls of limestone of the gorge reach heights of 500 meters vertical drop and points where the minimum width is only 20 meters, with embedded pathways for visitors to take in the gorgeous scenic views. A very interesting to see point, it is the Romanesque chapel of Pertusa, with dizzying views of the marsh Caselles. Also very interesting suspension bridge at the end of the tour.
Congost de Mont-rebei in Spain offers both. The Mont-rebei area is so special because of the lush flora and abundant animal species that live in and around the mountains, which are crisscrossed by the shimmering blue waters of rivers innumerable. This creates a near-infinite range of environs for all manner of creatures to find their home: Rocky peaks high in the atmosphere, lush forests spilling down the mountainside and finishing in the cool river waters below. Perhaps the most famous part of the mountain, Congost de Mont-rebei is a steep canyon cut into the rocky peaks, plunging hundreds of feet down sheer rock walls. Narrow walking paths etched into the sides of the canyon provide adventurous tourists and hikers with breathtaking views and spellbinding glimpses directly down into the canyon floor.
Popular with mountain bikers and hikers in particular, the canyon offers as much of a challenge as it does a scenic view of the landscape. The paths are steep, rocky and frightfully thin, making humans to feel right at home with the mountain goats and birds that populate the rocky environ, which may, in fact, be visiting this beautiful place for the very same reasons as tourists do: nature, filled with nature.
Footbridge over the river Noguera Ribagorzana. The gateway itself is the starting point of the path between the Congost de Mont-Rebei and shelter Montfalco and constitutes a real crossroads and symbolic bond between the lands of Aragon and Catalonia located in the east and west margins of the river Noguera Ribagorzana.
