Transport in Oslo - Norway
Public transport:
Oslo has a comprehensive and efficient public transport network of trains, buses, trams, ferries and underground (T-Bane), mostly operated by Oslo Sporveier. You can buy single-trip tickets, day passes and eight-day transferable passes from ticket offices across the city, as well as the Oslo Pass, which includes access to all public transport, apart from late-night buses and trams. The Oslo Pass also allows you free access to more than 30 attractions, free guided walking tours and generous discounts elsewhere.
In general, tickets aren't especially cheap, but fines for travelling without a ticket are even steeper, so don't be tempted to go without. Some 50 separate bus lines and eight different tram lines cover the city. You can board these opposite Oslo S station on Jerbanetorget, with tickets available from the driver. The Oslo T-Bane consists of five underground lines.
Båtservice Sightseeing A/S operates seasonal ferries (April to October) from City Hall to Bygdøy Island, where many museums are situated. Other small ferries operate from Vippetangen, just behind Akershus Slott, to all the harbour basin islands.

Taxis:
You can find taxi ranks throughout the city, mainly near the shopping centre, city squares and outside Oslo S station. Oslo has four car taxi lines: City Taxi (tel: 02322), Norgestaxi AS (tel: 08000), Oslo Taxi (tel: 02323) and Taxi 2 (tel: 02202). The city also has two helicopter taxi services, Heliwing (tel: 9809 5000) and Nor Aviation (tel: 6495 6495); one seaplane taxi, Fonnafly (tel: 6710 5050); and one boat, Fjord taxi (tel: 9004 0999), which you can also charter for private trips on the fjord.
Driving:
Driving in Oslo is fairly straightforward. However, the city is relatively small and has an excellent public transport system, so a car is unnecessary unless you're planning longer trips. Rush hour (0700 to 0900 and 1500 to 1800) is best avoided, and navigating your way round can be difficult, as there is a complicated one-way system.
Another plus point for public transport is that parking is a nightmare in Oslo, and prices can be steep. Payment is usually required Monday to Friday 0800-1700, and until 1500 on Saturday. Municipal parking spots are free to Oslo Pass holders. There are daytime car parks at C J Hambros Plass, Prinsens gate, Christian Krohgsgate, Oslo Plaza, Asker Stasjon and Skøyen Stasjon.
Car hire:
The major car hire providers are Avis, Munkedamsveien, Budget, Munkedamsveien , and Hertz, Holbergsgate. The minimum age for hiring a car is 21 years and a credit card will be required as security. The driver must have a national driving licence (in Roman script), which he/she has held for a minimum of one year. Insurance is mandatory and tends to be included in the cost of the hire.
Bicycle hire:
You can pick up Oslo city bikes from over 100 locations in and around the city centre and these are available from 0600 to 2400 every day. Oslo Bysykkel works on a pre-paid smartcard system, and you can rent cards at the tourist information offices for 24 hours. It's worth bearing in mind that you can only rent a maximum of two smartcards per credit card (not helpful if you're travelling in a big group) and if you lose the card, you can expect a hefty fine. Oslo (English pronunciation: /ˈɒzloʊ/, oz-loh,[8] Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈuʂˈlu] ( listen) or, rarer [ˈusˈlu] or [ˈuʂlu][9]) is the capital and the most populous city in Norway.
Oslo constitutes both a county and a municipality. Founded in the year 1040, and established as a kaupstad or trading place in 1048 by King Harald III, the city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 and with Sweden from 1814 to 1905 reduced its influence. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, the city was moved closer to Akershus Fortress during the reign of King Christian IV and renamed Christiania in his honour. It was established as a municipality (formannskapsdistrikt) on 1 January 1838. Following a spelling reform, it was known as Kristiania from 1877 to 1925, at which time its original Norwegian name was restored.
Oslo is the economic and governmental centre of Norway. The city is also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. It is an important centre for maritime industries and maritime trade in Europe. The city is home to many companies within the maritime sector, some of which are among the world's largest shipping companies, shipbrokers and maritime insurance brokers. Oslo is a pilot city of the Council of Europe and the European Commission intercultural cities programme.
Oslo is considered a global city and ranked Beta World City in studies carried out by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network in 2008.[10] It was ranked number one in terms of quality of life among European large cities in the European Cities of the Future 2012 report by fDi magazine.[11] A survey conducted by ECA International in 2011 placed Oslo as the second most expensive city in the world for living expenses after Tokyo.[12] In 2013 Oslo tied with the Australian city of Melbourne as the fourth most expensive city in the world, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s Worldwide Cost of Living study.[13]
As of January 1, 2016, the municipality of Oslo has a population of 658,390,[2] while the population of the city's urban area was 942,084.[4] The metropolitan area had an estimated population of 1.71 million.[5] The population is currently increasing at record rates, making it the fastest growing major city in Europe.[14] This growth stems for the most part from international immigration and related high birth rates, but also from intra-national migration. The immigrant population in the city is growing somewhat faster than the Norwegian population,[15] and in the city proper this is now more than 25% of the total

Drammen - Norway
Drammen - The Capital of Buskerud County Drammen – The City by the River
Drammen is situated at the mouth of the long and scenic Drammen river valley. The river is well known for salmon anglers, but also for being cleaned and included into the city centre with its park and leisure areas along the banks on both sides.
The Spiral tunnel
Spiralen made Drammen famous in 1961, and still is a well known reference to the city: a tunnel winding six times in an upward spiral inside the mountain leading up to a look out point with a magnificent view over the city, the fjord, the river and the surrounding mountains.
Almost 200 years old
Drammen has been a city for less than two centuries, but rock carvings and other relics of the past prove that there have been people in the area for about 6000 years. The city of Drammen was established in 1811 when the towns Bragernes on the north side of the river, and Strømsø and Tangen on the south side were united. Drammen, with its 57 000 inhabitants, is the tenth largest city in Norway.
The river has always been important
The river has played an important part throughout the history of Drammen and has also given the city its name. Drafn, meaning muddy water, was the original name of the river, as the strong currents whirled up and brought with them sand and gravel. For many years there were lots of sawmills and factories along the banks, and the river was important for the floating of timber from the forests to the mills, and also for freight of timber to the harbour for export.
Sustainable environment
After a thorough cleaning in the nineteen nineties and the development of well kept parks with pedestrian and bicycle paths, benches and beaches along the banks, the river is once again a natural part of the city. Drammen has gained national recognition for the last years' determined work with integrated spatial city-and city centre planning.
Transport, trade and industry
Transport is important for the Drammen trade and industry, and the city is a junction for road, rail and ship. Drammen Port is often used by international shipping companies. Food industry and several big and small companies within electronics and graphic industry are important sectors for employment in Drammen. Drammen is the centre for shopping for more than 100 000 people from the city and its surrounding areas including neighbouring municipalities
Towards an environment for higher education and research
The process of gathering various institutions for higher education which includes combined specialists' and public library in one centre has started. Drammen Campus, Library and Business Incubator (Papirbredden) will be the engine in the further process of developing and maintaining a sustainable environment for education and research in Drammen. The Campus will significantly contribute to Drammen's assets as the regional capital and be an engine for growth and development throughout the region.

#Trolltunga
Trolltunga (Troll tongue) is a rock formation situated about 1,100 metres above sea level in the municipality of Odda in Hordaland county, Norway. The special cliff is jutting horizontally out from the mountain, into free air about 700 metres (2,300 ft) above the north side of the lake Ringedalsvatnet.[1]
#Preikestolen
Preikestolen or Prekestolen (English: Preacher's Pulpit or Pulpit Rock) is a famous tourist attraction in the municipality of Forsand in Rogaland county, Norway. Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres (1,982 ft) above the Lysefjorden. Atop the cliff, there is an almost flat top of approximately 25 by 25 metres (82 ft × 82 ft). It sits on the north side of the fjord, opposite the Kjerag plateau, located on the south side.
#Atlantic Ocean Road
The Atlantic Ocean Road or the Atlantic Road (Norwegian: Atlanterhavsveien) is an 8.3-kilometer (5.2 mi) long section of County Road 64 that runs through an archipelago in Eide and Averøy in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. It passes by Hustadvika, an unsheltered part of the Norwegian Sea, connecting the island of Averøy with the mainland and Romsdalshalvøya peninsula. It runs between the villages of Kårvåg on Averøy and Vevang in Eida. It is built on several small islands and skerries, which are connected by several causeways, viaducts and eight bridges—the most prominent being Storseisundet Bridge.

Bergen, historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Hordaland on the west coast of Norway. At the end of the first quarter of 2016, the municipality's population was 278,121,[1] and the Bergen metropolitan region has about 420,000 inhabitants. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway.
#Trollstigen
Trollstigen (English: Trolls' Path[1]) is a serpentine mountain road in Rauma Municipality, Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
It is part of Norwegian County Road 63 that connects the town of Åndalsnes in Rauma and the village of Valldal in Norddal Municipality. It is a popular tourist attraction due to its steep incline of 10% and eleven hairpin bends up a steep mountainside.
#Lofoten
Lofoten (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈluːfuːtn̩]) is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten is known for a distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. Though lying within the Arctic Circle, the archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperature anomalies relative to its high latitude.

Røldal is a village in the municipality of Odda in Hordaland county, Norway. The village lies in the Røldal valley along the Storelva river on the north end of the lake Røldalsvatnet.
#Kjeragbolten
Kjeragbolten is a boulder located on the mountain Kjerag in Forsand municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The rock itself is a 5-cubic-metre (180 cu ft) glacial deposit wedged in the mountain's crevasse. It is a popular tourist destination and is accessible without any climbing equipment. However, it is suspended above a 984-metre (3,228 ft) deep abyss.

Lillestrøm -Norway
The name means the little [part of] Strøm, Strøm being the name of an old and large farm (Old Norse: straumr, which also meant stream as well..
Lillestrøm's history dates back to the times river powered sawmills came into use for the production of building materials. Later Lillestrøm got its own steam sawmill which laid the base for the development of the area which became the town. The area was, by and large, a moss covered swamp-like area, at the time considered almost uninhabitable. However, the almost non-existent property values were judged to be a fair exchange and so the workers started living and settling in the area around the sawmill, and Lillestrøm was born.
On January 1, 1908, Lillestrøm became a municipality of its own, having been split from Skedsmo. At that time Lillestrøm municipality had a population of 4,351. On 1 January 1962 the two municipalities were reunited under the name Skedsmo. Before the merger Lillestrøm municipality had a population of 10,840.
Lillestrøm train station
As of 1997, Lillestrøm is a city in its own right. Since then, Lillestrøm holds an annual 4 day city fair, which is entirely free of charge. It includes music by high profile Norwegian artists on several outdoor stages, food, retail business exhibitions and thrill rides en masse. Everything is held in Lillestrøm's main street and the connecting streets, which is reserved for pedestrians for the occasion.God bless all

The Stelvio Pass (Italian: Passo dello Stelvio) is a mountain pass in northern Italy, at an elevation of 2,757 m (9,045 ft) above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps.
The original road was built in 1820–25 by the Austrian Empire to connect the former Austrian province of Lombardy with the rest of Austria, covering a climb of 1,871 m (6,138 ft) The engineer and project manager was Carlo Donegani (1775–1845). Since then, the route has changed very little. Its seventy-five hairpin turns, 48 of them on the northern side numbered with stones, are a challenge to motorists. Stirling Moss went off the road here during a vintage car event in the 1990s, with an onboard video of his incident being shown on satellite TV.
Before the end of World War I, it formed the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Italian Kingdom. The Swiss had an outpost and a hotel (which was destroyed) on the Dreisprachenspitze (literally, Three-Language-Peak). During World War I, fierce battles were fought in the ice and snow of the area, with gun fire even crossing the Swiss area at times. The three nations made an agreement not to fire over Swiss territory, which jutted out in between Austria (to the north) and Italy (to the south). Instead they could fire down the pass, as Swiss territory was up and around the peak. After 1919, with the expansion of Italy, the pass lost its strategic importance.
The Dolomites well deserve to be in the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. It's a mesmerizing, ancient and mystical location, where you can enjoy nature at its best. It is one of those places that makes you understand why Italy is such a famous place for tourism.
The Dolomites are part of Unesco's World Heritage Sites. The Dolomites (Italian: Dolomiti are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form a part of the Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley (Pieve di Cadore) in the east. The northern and southern borders are defined by the Puster Valley and the Sugana Valley (Italian: Valsugana). The Dolomites are nearly equally shared between the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino.
There are also mountain groups of similar geological structure that spread over the River Piave to the east – Dolomiti d'Oltrepiave; and far away over the Adige River to the west – Dolomiti di Brenta (Western Dolomites). There is also another smaller group called Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites) located between the provinces of Trentino, Verona and Vicenza (see map).
The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and many other regional parks are located in the Dolomites.
The Dolomiti is a World Heritage Site!
The municipality of Val di Vizze is located in the homonymous valley and is surrounded by the majestic scenery of the Zillertal Alps.
Val di Fleres is one of the northernmost municipalities of South Tyrol and borders directly on Austria. The 23 km long genuine valley (943 – 3.509 m) stretches from Prati via Fleres di Dentro up to the high Alpine scenery of the Passo di Vizze (2,246 m). Bounded by the mountains of the Tux mountain ridge in the north and the Monti di Fundres in the south, the valley stretches into the heart of the Zillertal Alps, the highest sommit of which is the Gran Pilastro (3.509 m).
No matter if you choose the Alta Via Venna alla Gerla, the Rifugio Gran Pilastro or the Passo di Vizze or Passo di Fundres, there are plenty of hiking and mountain biking destination. The so-called Gliedergang at the head of the valley, however, is rich in minerals such as the Blue Beryll, their collection is, however, strictly forbidden.

Lier (Norway)

Lier is a municipality in Buskerud county in Norway. Lier has a vast number of fields and apple trees. It is also famous for its agricultural products as strawberries and vegetables.
Lier er en kommune i Buskerud. Noen kjenner Lier som jordbærbygda, mens andre tenker på epler og grønnsaker. Videre gir landskapet gode turmuligheter både sommer og vinterstid. Lier har fått tilnavnet «Den grønne lungen mellom Oslo og Drammen».

The Fjords of Norway - World Heritage
UNESCO has included the fjords of Norway, exemplified by the Nærøyfjord and the Geirangerfjord, on its renowned World Heritage List. The Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord now enjoy the same recognition as the Great Wall of China, the Great Pyramids of Egypt, Zambias Victoria Falls and the Grand Canyon in USA.
The west Norwegian fjords are classic, superbly developed fjords, considered as the type locality for fjord landscapes in the world. They are comparable in scale and quality to other existing fjords on the World Heritage List and are distinguished by the climate and geological setting.
The Naeroyfjord and the Geirangerfjord areas are considered to be among the most outstanding fjord areas on the planet. The Naeroyfjord is perhaps the most spectacular arm of the Sognefjord, and the narrowest fjord in the world, at on point only 250 metres across with mountains towering more than 1700 metres above its tranquil waters. The fjord area has been inhabited for about 10 000 years. The area has been farmed for almost 3000 years, and farming is still important for people living along the fjord.
The west Norwegian fjords are situated one on each side of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier and comprise of the municipalities of Aurland, Lærdal, Vik and Voss on the south side and the municipalities of Norddal and Stranda on the north side.

Perhaps not as famous as other mountain passes, the Furka Pass is one of Switzerland's most beautiful and scenic roads in the Swiss Alps. This 5K drone video features the Rhone Glacier, as well as the Grimsel Hospiz Hotel and Dam, together with the lake and show how the Swiss glaciers are melting fast as well as the smart Swiss glacier blankets, trying to preserve the retreating ice. The Furka Pass is also famous for the Belvedere Hotel, also features in the 007 James Bond movie Goldfinger.
The pass links the Ursern valley in the canton of Uri with the municipality of Goms in the canton of Valais. It’s one of the highest paved roads in the country, and the road over the pass was built in 1867. As you drive along the pass's road, you may see the train that travels the Furka Pass chugging along through the mountainside, creating a picturesque scene for you to hold in your memory. Countless tourists are attracted by the unique mountain panorama, the Rhone Glacier with its ice grotto, the attractive options for hiking, climbing and skiing tours, as well as the reopened steam railway.
