Santiago de Compostela to Muxia
This is my three day walking journey from Santiago de Compostela to Muxia. I made this trip on the last week of February of 2016. The weather is not too cold. There’s some wind and rain, but also sunny days too. Expect to walk alone for most part of the way at this time of year. This is some good alone time to get your thoughts together, reflect, meditate, or just get away from all the noise and enjoy the countryside and seaside. This beautiful town has a hilltop where you can enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view, and catch a mesmerizing sunset by the sea.

Extremely sleepy and gloomy day | Camino del Norte from Laredo to Noja in Cantabria, Spain - Day 11
On the Day 11 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we hiked from the town Laredo in Cantabria to the Noja village.
This day started in the camping Laredo where we stopped in yesterday and we were very happy about it. They left us to choose the pitch and gave us a reasonable price for the backpacker so that we didn't have to pay for the car or caravan we don't have.
We left the camping at 11 am because we felt extremely sleepy and didn't want to get up at all. The weather was cloudy and very humid that day and we felt it all day long getting over us. When we got out of the camping and walked along the sea front with the huge sand hills we had to hop on the ferry that took us from Laredo to Santoña. It wasn't a very long ride probably just about 5 min. From this boat you get beautiful views of the surrounded area that is all wetlands and ponds and is considered to be a natural park. When we got to Santoña we found a tourist office where we put a stamp of the city. We saw that there is a mountain that we can hike over but we realized that it will take us several hours to do so and we won't get to the planned destination today so we decided to go with the Camino...

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.

What is the Finisterrana? | CaminoWays.com
Many of you will be familiar with the 'Compostela', the certificate you can obtain from the Pilgrims Office in Santiago de Compostela if you have walked a minimum of 100kms of the Camino to the city or cycled at least the last 200kms. The same way you can request your Compostela certificate when you finish your Camino de Santiago you will also be able to request other Camino certificates if you decide to follow or continue walking to the towns of Fisterra and/or Muxía, along the Fisterra Way. Each town, both Fisterra and Muxía, has its own certificate.
If you walk to Fisterra, you can request the 'Fisterrá' or 'Finisterrana' certificate from the local hostel or town council, and if you walk to Muxía, you can request the 'Muxiana' certificate from the local tourist office. These certificates are written in Galician and signed by the town mayor.
Make sure you get your pilgrim passport stamped along the way!
