LA FIESTA DE LA SIDRA EN NAVA - ASTURIAS (ESPAÑA - SPAIN)
The council of Nava is symbolically the heart of Asturias because of its situation at the centre-east of the region and because the area is well known for its Cider production of which the Asturians are very proud.
This is the main area where the land, towns and overall life revolve around the production of the most important drink and symbol of the Principality, natural Cider. In fact because of their love for and dedication to this traditional beverage, with low alcohol content, Nava were awarded with the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award in 1996. This is an award given by the Prince of Asturias Foundation and delivered in person by the Prince and Princess of Asturias. The award shall be conferred upon a town, village, population centre, scenic area or group of people in the Principality of Asturias that have stood out in a notable way in defending and conserving its natural or environmental setting, its historical, cultural or artistic heritage, or in the carrying out of outstanding communal works or other such displays of solidarity.
Other important aspects of Nava are the fine examples of religious and civic architecture such as the Palace Casa-Fuerte de la Ferreria from the 16th century in the town of Fuensanta, The Palace of the Cogolla, also from the 16th century or the parish church of El Remedio.
In the location of Ceceda you can see the traditional architecture of the rural areas of the region.
In Nava you will also find the Museum of Asturian Cider, build to show and promote this popular beverage through an interactive experience.
There are many routes throughout the area like the Sendero Local de Nava (Local Route of Nava), Ruta del Picu la Mua (Route of La Mua Peak), Ruta de la Ribera del Rio La Pena (Route of the riverside of La Pena river) or Ruta de les foces del Rio Pendon (Route of the ravines of the Pendon river). It also offers close proximity to the beautiful beaches of the Cider Region and the Dinosaur Coastline.
The Gastronomy in Nava is based around the traditional Asturian fare, with stews, Asturian reared beef and fresh fish from the see and the rivers. It has special importance the quality shellfish from the area, cooked with rice or in many ways but always very tasty. And of course the real star of the area is Cider which is great for drinking but also for cooking with.
Nava enjoys one of the best parties in Asturias, the Festival of the Cider considered of National and International Touristic Interest and the Astur Market considered of Regional Interest.

Navaisha, Lake Navaisha, tourism, resorts, Hell's Gate National Park , Gorge, fault line,
Overview[edit]
The town has a total population of 181,966 (2009 census).[1]
The main industry is agriculture, especially floriculture.
Naivasha is also a popular tourist destination. Hell's Gate National Park (the main locations for Lion King, including Pride Rock and the Gorge, are modelled after the park[3]), Longonot National Park and Mount Longonot are nearby attractions. Tours also have included Lake Naivasha, to observe birdlife and hippopotamus behaviour, [4] as well as other wild animals.
In the late 1970s–1980s Lake Naivasha was overrun with poachers and foreign creatures introduced into the lake to provide fishing.[citation needed] The migratory paths along lake Naivasha were being destroyed by the local rose industry.[citation needed] The naturalist Joan Root (1936–2006), spent the last decade of her life trying to save the lake and its wildlife.
A resort in Naivasha was the location for much of the negotiations of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement ending the Second Sudanese Civil War, commonly known as the Naivasha Agreement.
Transport[edit]
It is located on the shore of Lake Naivasha and along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway (A104 road) and Uganda Railway. In 2015, an extension of the new standard gauge railway to this town is approved.[5]

Kawariyas walk 105 km to reach Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar
More than one lakh Shiv bhakts or Kanwars walk 105Kms to reach the Baba Baidyanath Temple for the annual Shravani Mela in Jharkhand.
Millions of pilgrims visit this shrine every year. It is famous for the mela of Shraavana (a month of the Hindu calendar), between July and August. About 7 to 8 million devotees visit the place from various parts of India and offer holy water of Ganges to the deity collected from Sultanganj, which is almost 108 km from Deoghar and Baidyanath. The water is also brought by the Kānvarias, who carry the water in Kavadi, and walk all the distance, on bare foot. You will find large crowds walking all the way carrying water. An unbroken line of people in saffron-dyed clothes stretches over the full 108 km for the month. The pilgrims are called Dak Bam and they do not stop even once in their journey from Sultangunj, located at Bhagalpur district to Vaidyanath. Pilgrims to the temple later visit the Basukinath temple.
Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.
According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site of the temple to get the boons that he later used to wreak havoc in the world. Ravana offered his ten heads one after another to Shiva as a sacrifice. Pleased with this, Shiva descended to cure Ravana who was injured. As he acted as a doctor, he is referred to as Vaidhya. From this aspect of Shiva, the temple derives its name.
