It is the industrial and commercial center of the Copperbelt, Zambia's copper-mining region, and capital of Copperbelt Province. It is also the commercial capital city of Zambia. It lies just 10km from the border with DR Congo. It is also home to Zambia's first modern stadium, The Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as well as home of Zambia's most successful football team ZESCO United F.C.

2. Dag Hammarskjoeld Memorial Ndola
Dag Hjalmar Agne Carl Hammarskjöld was a Swedish economist and diplomat who served as the second Secretary-General of the United Nations. Hammarskjöld was the youngest person to have held the post, at an age of 47 years upon his appointment. His second term was cut short when he was killed in an airplane crash while en route to cease-fire negotiations during the Congo Crisis. He is one of only four people to be awarded a posthumous Nobel Prize.Hammarskjöld has been referred to as one of the two best secretaries-general of the United Nations, and his appointment has been mentioned as the most notable success for the UN. United States President John F. Kennedy called Hammarskjöld the greatest statesman of our century.

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go to the beautiful country of Zambia and let's visit the Kabwata Visual Arts and Cultural Association centre located in the centre of the capital city Lusaka. The centre was established in 1974 and currently has 120 subscribed members and artists. It's a popular Lusaka attraction where visitors can find traditional Zambian artefacts to take home as souvenirs and gifts. Other works are beads, drums, spears, walking sticks, African printed fabrics, tie-dye and batiks. We are going to visit the traditional huts used as galleries for the art as well as some of the huts used as residences for the artists.

Zambia, situated in Southern Africa, is a landlocked country with Lusaka as its capital city. Its name was derived from the Zambezi river, meaning God's River. Zambia is known to be the 39th-largest country in the world at 752 614 km2. The population consists of about 10 million people from over 73 different tribes, mostly living around the urban centers.
