Discover our neighborhood: Boulder, Colorado
Boulder, CO has been our hometown for more than 2 years, but now it's our time to leave for new adventures (you will know more pretty soon). For this occasion, we decided to make a short video showing the main places to visit if you come to Boulder.
Boulder is located in NorthWest of Denver in Colorado, at an altitude of 5,328 ft (1,624m). This city is not famous in the United States, but actually it's very cool to live there:
• First, the climate is just right, with a great amount of snow in winter, very beautiful days in summer, cool thunderstorms in spring, and magnificent colors in the countryside in fall (which is our favorite season)
• Secondly, there are plenty of landscapes: forests, mountains, creeks, lakes, unusual rock formations, etc. Boulder is only 30min from Denver, an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park, and close to a lot of other places that you can see in our video about Colorado landscapes (here is the link: Plus, it's only a few hours from Utah which allows a lot of weekend opportunities!
• Finally, people here are very nice, relaxed. There are a lot of restaurants, shops, and places to chill. Plus a lot of sport activities such as hiking, bicycling, or climbing. Sport is really a part of the culture.
The main places to visit in Boulder are:
• Chautauqua Park with the view of the Flatirons and the Green Mountain. This is the main landscape in Boulder where people like to hike.
• NCAR or National Center of Atmospheric Research, a little bit above the city level, also popular for hiking.
• Settler's Park with its Red Rocks, at the feet of the Mount Sanitas, also popular for hiking.
• Colorado University campus with its beautiful architecture.
• Flagstaff Road with its viewpoints: Boulder Amphitheater, Realization Point, Lost Gultchman Overlook, Gross Reservoir... This road goes up in the nearest mountains and gives you views of both the city and the mountains.
• Boulder Creek, flowing across the city from West to East. Very popular for bicycling.
• Pearl Street Mall and 29th Street Mall, the main places for shopping and dining in Boulder.
• Boulder Falls, on the way to the town of Nederland.

Driving Colorado 119 Scenic through Black Hawk, Nederland, & Boulder
Follow with me on a road tour though Black Hawk, Nederland, and Boulder on Colorado 119. This is a very scenic route taking up through parts of the Arapaho National Forest and the Roosevelt National Forest. This route also gives you a good view of the rocky Mountain Nation Park!
A special Thanks to the Firefighters who fought last summer's wildfire in Nederland! Due to their heroic efforts the fire was extinguished without causing anymore damage than it did. Sadly, several homes was destroyed in the fire and people displaced. My thoughts and prayers goes out to them all!

Here's a full description of the book: When Joseph Collier left Scotland bound for Central City, Colorado in 1871, it was unclear whether the young immigrant would make much of a name for himself. However, through hard work and perseverance, Collier developed a reputation as one of the state's preeminent pioneer photographers.
Now, over a century later, Grant Collier has literally followed in the footsteps of his great-great-grandfather. Grant has traveled across Colorado taking photographs from precisely the same spots where Joseph Collier captured his images. These photographs are presented in the often-imitated but never duplicated book Colorado: Yesterday & Today.

Boulder to Black Hawk Colorado (Casino town) Road Tour
Driving Boulder's scenic Colorado 93 highway to Black Hawk Colorado. This is an easy and very scenic drive one hour drive. Even if you don't gamble, it's worth a quick trip. Black Hawk Colorado's least populated City. It started out as a Gold mining town during the Pike's peak gold rush days. Buffalo Bill once lived in Black Hawk during the gold rush days. Black Hawk started to dwindle in the 20th century until they opened their first casino in 1991. They current have 18 casinos operating in Black Hawk today. Black Hawk is also a quick trip from Denver and there seems to be plenty of charter/tour buses taking people to and from near by towns. If you're not into casino's, this route through the gulch is dotted with places used for rafting.
