Falling Spring Waterfall, Missouri
Falling spring is a small mill with a stream that flows from a hole in the bluff, approximately 20ft above the mill. Falling Spring Mill was built in 1920.
It is located in Oregon County, about 10 miles south of Winona, Missouri. Take highway 19 south from Winona, turn East on Oregon County road 3170, then immediately turn left onto County Road 156 (aka Forest Service Road 3164). As of 2012, there were signs on highway 19 and 3170 which point to Falling Spring.
The Thomas Birch cabin, built in the 1850s, is located here. Nearby attractions include Turner Mill and Greer Spring.

Indian Creek/Greenway Trail
Another area from Greenway Trail in Kansas City, Missouri. This area runs along Indian Creek. A historical sign about the Watts Mill reads as follows below:
The Return of the Millstone
'During the 107 years of its operation (1832-1939) the Fitzhugh/Watts mill used a number of buhrstones for the grinding of corn into cornmeal or wheat into flour. Imported from France, the limestone and silica stones were used in pairs. Eventually they wore down and were replaced with new stones.'
'The discarded milestones took on new lives. One graced the walkway of the Field's family home for many years. The other became the doorstep of the Watt's house, which stood just west of the site. According to historian Bill Crotty, Stubbins and Nancy Katherine Watts were married standing on that stone. Later, their friend and neighbor, fronteirsman Jim Bridger, visited the home many times, probably crossing that threshold at the kitchen door.'
'Old millstones also mark the graves of the Watts family, buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetary south of Stanley, Kansas.'
'These stones were donated by Stanley Fields III and Jim Gray.'
Flight from St. Louis to Okla. City via Southwest Airlines--Sept. 29, 2017
On September 29, 2017, I hopped on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 to fly to Oklahoma City to attend my 50th high school class reunion. The day was a beautiful day for flying. Here I take YouTube viewers along to see some of the window views as I made my way to Okla. City. We begin with our takeoff from Runway 30L. At approximately 2:48 into the video, we see Interstate 270. At 3:11, we see the STL Outlet Mall(STL MIlls). At 3:32, we cross over the Missouri River. At 3:40, we see the 370 bridge. At 4:03, we see Interstate 70. At 5:50 we see Interstate 64 as it goes over the Missouri River. At 6:01 the Spirit of St. Louis Airport comes into view. At 6:25, the Howell Island Conservation Area is visible. From 7:34 to 7:52, we fly over Washington, MO, which resides along the bank of the Missouri River. From 9:00 to 9:35, we pass by Owensville, MO, and see Peaceful Valley Lake to the west of Owensville. At 10:46, we pass over Buffalo, MO. We see US Highway 65 as it traverses south from Buffalo, across the bottom of the screen. From 11:36 to 12:16, we pass to the southeast of Stockton Lake, which is not easily visible due to a bit of haze in this area. At 12:42, we see the shadow of our contrail. BTW, the dark band you see across the left bottom at various places in the video is more contrail shadow. At 12:58, we pass over Joplin, MO, where I give a close-up view of the Joplin airport. Carthage, MO is on the lower right of the screen. At 14:42, we see Baxter Springs, KS to the left, and Galena, KS to the right. At 15:08, we pass over the Picher, OK modern ghost town. At 15:45, we pass over Chetopa, KS. At 17:47, we pass over Barnsdall, OK and nearby Birch Lake. At 19:25, we see the Arkansas River. At 20:06 is Blackburn, OK(lower left center). Pawnee, OK and Pawnee Lake are at 20:34. At 21:16, we see the Cimarron Turnpike on the lower right on the screen. The small community of Morrison, OK is on the upper left. At 22:16 we see the Cimarron Turnpike Spur. Lake McMurtry(right), and Lake Carl Blackwell(left) become visible at 23:01. From 24:00 to 24:24, we see the Cimarron River. At 24:41, we see State Highway 33. At 25:05, we pass by Guthrie, OK. From 26:03 to 27:10 we see Interstate 35 from left to right across the screen. Now, we approach the OKC area. From 28:14 to 29:01, we pass by Lake Hefner. AT 29:19, we see Penn Square Mall to the right, and the Northwest Expressway in the center, with 50 Penn Place to the left. From 29:49 to 29:52, we see the Oklahoma State Office complex, which includes the Capitol. They are briefly visible across the bottom of the screen. From 30:00 to 30:27, we are treated to a beautiful view of downtown OKC. At 30:27, we see the Oklahoma River and the Interstate 40 Crosstown Expressway from the top to the bottom of the screen. I-35 is from left to right across the screen. From 30:53 to 31:19, we pass by Will Rogers World Airport on the downwind leg, then turn onto base, and then onto our final approach and land on Runway 35R. Nice day for flying!!!!!
