Bornholm is the easternmost island and municipality of Denmark. The Baltic Sea island is located about 150 km southeast of Copenhagen and 80 km northeast of Rügen. The south coast of Sweden is about 40 km away.
The island has 40,000 inhabitants.
Beach tourism is possible on several beaches. The beach of Dueodde in the south of the island has one of the finest sands on the Baltic Sea. Golfing, climbing, horse riding, cycling and other sports activities are possible. The port town of Rønne is often visited by day tourists. Holiday centers and headquarters of several hotels are the coastal villages Dueodde, Balka, Sømarken and Allinge-Sandvig.

Bornholm, Denmark - The Sunshine Island
Bornholm is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea, to the east of the rest of Denmark, south of Sweden, northeast of Germany and north of the westernmost part of Poland. The main industries on the island include fishing, dairy farming, and arts and crafts such as glass production and pottery using locally worked clay. Tourism is important during the summer. There is an especially large number of Denmark's round churches on the island.
The island is called The Sunshine Island because of its weather and The Rock Island because of its geology, which consists of granite, except along the southern coast. The heat from the summer is stored in the rock formations and the weather is quite warm until October. As a result of the climate, a local variety of the common fig, known as Bornholm's Diamond, can grow locally on the island.
Strategically located in the Baltic Sea, Bornholm has been fought over for centuries. It has usually been ruled by Denmark, but also by Lübeck and Sweden. The ruin of Hammershus, at the northwestern tip of the island, is the largest medieval fortress in northern Europe, testament to the importance of its location.
It typically takes 3 hours for passengers and freight to travel between Rønne and Copenhagen via Ystad in Sweden.
The island's varied geography and seascapes attract visitors to its many beauty spots from the Hammeren promontory in the northwest to the Almindingen forest in the centre and the Dueodde beaches in the southeast. Of special interest are the rocky sea cliffs at Jons Kapel and Helligdomsklipperne, the varied topography of Paradisbakkerne and rift valleys such as Ekkodalen and Døndalen. Bornholm's numerous windmills include the post mill of Egeby and the well-kept Dutch mill at Aarsdale. The lighthouse at Dueodde is Denmark's tallest, while Hammeren Lighthouse stands at a height of 85 metres above sea level and Rønne Lighthouse rises over the waterfront.
The island hosts examples of 19th- and early-20th-century architecture, and about 300 wooden houses in Rønne and Nexø, donated by Sweden after World War II, when the island was repairing damage caused by the war. The island is home to 15 medieval churches, four of which are round churches with unique artwork and architecture. The ancient site of Rispebjerg has remains of sun temples from the Neolithic and earthworks from the Iron Age.

The sunniest part of Denmark, Bornholm lies way out in the Baltic Sea, 200km east of Copenhagen. But it’s not just sunny skies that draw the hordes each year. Mother Nature was in a particularly good mood when creating this Baltic beauty, bestowing on it arresting chalk cliffs, soothing forests, bleach-white beaches and a pure, ethereal light that painters do their best to capture.
Humankind added the beguiling details, from medieval fortress ruins and thatched fishing villages, to the iconic round churches and contemporary Bornholms Kunstmuseum. The island’s ceramic and glassware artisans are famed throughout Denmark, as are its historic smokehouses and ever-expanding league of food artisans.

Copenhagen Travel
Copenhagen Travel - Copenhagen (Danish: København) is the capital city of Denmark and forms the moderate conurbation that one million Danes call home. This friendly old girl of a town is big enough to form a small Danish 'metropolis', with shopping, culture and nightlife par excellence, yet small enough still to feel intimate and be safe. Although mixed in its urban scene, the city is easy to navigate. Overlooking the Øresund Strait, with neighbouring Sweden just minutes away, Copenhagen serves as a cultural and geographic link between mainland Europe and Scandinavia. Copenhagen is where old fairy tales blend with flashy new architecture and world-class design; where warm jazz mixes with crisp electronica from Copenhagen's basements. You could feel you've seen all of Copenhagen in one day, but further exploration will have you discovering more for months.
Enjoy Your Copenhagen Travel!
Legoland - Amusement Park & Family Vacation
Legoland Resort Deutschland
Legoland Deutschland is a Legoland park located in Günzburg in southern Germany, roughly half way from Munich to Stuttgart, which opened in 2002. It is 43.5 hectares in area, and it is one of the four most popular theme parks in Germany. The Miniland contains Lego reproductions of various German cities and rural landscapes. In 2008, Legoland opened the first ever Legoland Holiday Village directly across from the Legoland Deutschland theme park. Holiday Village is an 11-hectare village with 72 holiday houses, 144 family rooms, a large campground and 34 themed rooms in the Knight's Castle which was added in 2013. There are two restaurants, Steak House and Jungle Buffett both located in the main building. The village also has a pirate themed 12 hole mini golf course named Captain Nick's Mini Golf. Another recreational activity is the high ropes course which has six different courses made for guests aged four and older. The high ropes course includes a 300 meter long zip line that goes across the Holiday Village lake and a 15 meter high climbing wall. There is also a Winther Test Track where younger guests can ride two or four wheel vehicles around a track. Additional activities for guests is an eight lane bowling alley, soccer court and a lake with a beach. Holiday Village also allows guests to take a Hot Air Balloon ride above the Legoland Deutschland Resort, for an additional fee. Legoland Deutschland is considering expanding Holiday Village by adding a motel, four star hotel with a swimming pool and fitness centre, and a new restaurant complex.
