Nienburg is a town and capital of the district Nienburg, in Lower Saxony. Situated on the scenic German Timber-Frame Road, Nienburg lies on the river Weser, approximately 55 km southeast of Bremen, and 45 km northwest of Hanover. The ground plan of the town is that of the medieval Nienburg, which can be identified by the Hamelmann plan from 1634. Also come many buildings from the Middle Ages (including Burgmannshöfe, the church and the town hall). When you like timbered houses and an old historic town centre, Nienburg is an interesting place to visit.
