Montreal Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Welcome to Montreal, Canada. This extraordinary city, which began life as a French colony in the 1600s, is now a stunning metropolis combining old-world architecture with modern dashes.
When Mark Twain visited Montreal in the 19th century, he was so taken by its many churches that he nicknamed it “The City of 100 Bell Towers.” These numerous buildings are often part of Montreal sightseeing; marvel at the imposing stone façade of Christ Church Cathedral, or stand beneath the great arched ceiling of the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica. You can spend days exploring the city’s many sacred spaces, but Montreal tourism is so much more than that; if you’re a foodie, you’re in luck, because the residents of Montreal adore a good meal, whether it’s poutine from a streetside bistro or fresh produce from the farmers market.
A tour of Montreal will take you across cobblestone streets and through architecture that dates back to the 1600s, but one thing you must remember to do is to walk and play in its numerous green spaces. The city’s inhabitants take great pride in Montreal’s natural beauty, and hikes up Mont Royal or along the St. Lawrence River are frequent activities for locals. Remember to bring your camera, as the riverfront and the mountain are full of striking photo opportunities.

【Text and description in this video】
1.Take a walk in the small diameter bamboo forest
Recently Arashiyama has become a hugely popular spot in the north of Togetsu Bridge.
In the area where tens of thousands of bamboos grow thick, small diameter is stretched like sewing a bamboo grove, and if you walk leisurely, you can feel the taste of the Heian period with your skin.
Because it is a popular spot, there are many other tourists, too. If you take a walk in the form of kimono or maiko, you will definitely get attention! Take a rickshaw for sightseeing and take a walk through the bamboo forest.
On the other hand, in the winter (December), a light-up event called “Kyoto Arashiyama Hanatouro (Hanatokoro)” is held, which illuminates the area including Togetsubashi Bridge and Takebayashi, and the bamboo forest of a different taste. You can enjoy the attraction.
2.Apply for the popular power spot Nomiya Shrine
The Nomiya Shrine (Nomi-no-jinja), which lives in the bamboo forest in Hino, is a historic shrine that appears in the Genji Monogatari Nomiya. As God of marriage and God of child labor peace, people who wish to receive the benefits come from all over the country.
Because it is on the route of the walk course of Takebayashi, it is a power spot that you should stop by.
After visiting the main hall, please stop by the Nomiya Daikokuten on the site. It is said that if you pray for a wish while indulging in the Kamiishi, which is near the Daikokuten, it will be fulfilled within one year.
3.Forest bath healing at Jokkokoji that blends in with nature
“Joja Koji” is a historical temple built in 1596 (Keicho 1). Ogurayama, a famous spot of autumnal leaves read by Hyakunin Isuzu. The atmosphere of the temple, which sits quietly on its side, is hard to describe, and when it is colored leaves, it is a beauty that breathes even from the mountain gate to the Niomon and the main road from the main hall.
4.Enjoy Japan's oldest forest fountain garden at Dakukuji
If you visit Daikakuji, you should definitely look at Osawa Pond, Japan's oldest forest fountain garden. It is built to simulate the Tangshan Lake in the Heian period, and about 700 cherry trees and roses and about 3,000 lotus flowers are native to the pond, so you can enjoy the same scenery as the Heian period. The popular season is still autumn. I am fascinated by the autumn leaves that appear on the lake side.
In addition, we recommend a special experience where you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful reflection at Daikakuji Temple in the early morning when there are no visitors.
5.Visit Tenryu-ji Temple full of attractions, such as must-see scenery garden
It is one of the Cultural assets of ancient capital Kyoto, which became a World Heritage Site in 1994, a particularly popular spot. You can not leave here on the Arashiyama sightseeing course.
Historic buildings such as the temple halls (Hatto), houses (Kuri) and hojos (Hojos), as well as the Longmen Temple, Yuunan Temple, the Shounkaku Temple, and the Amayu Temple A number of people will greet you.
In particular, the Sogenchi Garden is one of the first historical sites in Japan to be highly regarded as being designated as a special scenic spot, and it is a must-see spot when visiting the Arashiyama area.
