The North Jutland Region , on one official website altered to North Denmark Region, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2006, when Ærø Municipality was created, to 98. North Jutland Region has 11 municipalities. The reform was implemented in Denmark on 1 January 2007.

    Skagen is Denmark's northernmost town, on the east coast of the Skagen Odde peninsula in the far north of Jutland, part of Frederikshavn Municipality in Nordjylland, 41 kilometres north of Frederikshavn and 108 kilometres northeast of Aalborg. The Port of Skagen is Denmark's main fishing port and it also has a thriving tourist industry, attracting 2 million people annually. Originally the name was applied to the peninsula but it now usually refers to the town itself. The settlement began in the Middle Ages as a fishing village, renowned for its herring industry. Thanks to its seascapes, fishermen and evening light, towards the end of the 19th century it became popular with a group of Impressionist artists now known as the Skagen Painters.   • 2. Anchers Hus Skagen
    Anchers Hus is the former residence of the painters Michael and Anna Ancher in Skagen, Denmark. They were both central figures in the artist colony of Skagen Painters who lived and worked in the town during late 19th and early 20th century. They lived in the house for five decades and in 1913 expanded it with a studio annex designed by Ulrik Plesner, another member of the colony. Their house now serves as a historic house museum and displays a large numbers of their own works and their personal art collection. In 1989 the museum was expanded with the neighbouring home of the Saxild family, which is used for museum café, art storage and a historical photo exhibition.

    KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art Aalborg is located in Aalborg, Denmark, on Kong Christians Allé near its junction with Vetserbro. Of a modern Scandinavian design, it was built between 1968-72 by Finnish architects Elissa and Alvar Aalto and Danish architect Jean-Jacques Baruël. It was completed on 8 June 1972.The museum has been termed a showplace for 20th-century Danish and international art, as it showcases both domestic and international modern art collections. It is described as strikingly contemporary in both form and content.

  • 6. Drachmanns Hus Skagen
    Drachmann's House , also known as Villa Pax, is one of the major houses of Skagen, northern Denmark. Located on Hans Baghs Vej towards the western side of the town, it was built in 1829 and is now a museum. It is a writer's home museum dedicated to the writer and marine painter Holger Drachmann who lived in the house from 1902 until his death in a sanatorium in Hornbæk in January 1908. Drachmann had regularly visited Skagen from 1871.

    Jørn Oberg Utzon, , Hon. FAIA was a Danish architect, most notable for designing the Sydney Opera House in Australia. When it was declared a World Heritage Site on 28 June 2007, Utzon became only the second person to have received such recognition for one of his works during his lifetime, after Oscar Niemeyer. Other noteworthy works include Bagsværd Church near Copenhagen and the National Assembly Building in Kuwait. He also made important contributions to housing design, especially with his Kingo Houses near Helsingør.

    The ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum is an art museum in Aarhus, Denmark. The museum was established in 1859 and is the oldest public art museum in Denmark outside Copenhagen. On 8 April 2004, ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum opened with exhibitions in a brand new modern building, 10 storeys tall with a total floor area of 20,700 m² and designed by Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen.
