    Nallikari is a seaside resort located on an island in the Hietasaari district in Oulu, Finland. The resort can be reached year-round with the local bus routes 15 and 15N and during summertime with a trackless train called Potnapekka. The beach of Nallikari stretches for about half a kilometre.In addition to the beach, Nallikari resort includes a spa hotel, a camping area with rentable cottages and a seaside restaurant. A public beach was established by the city of Oulu in Nallikari in 1946. The camping area was opened in the early 1960s. There were about 40,000 total nights stayed in the camping area in the summer 2014.

    The Hupisaaret Islands City Park is a public urban park in the Myllytulli district in central Oulu, Finland. The park is located in the delta of the River Oulu. The area was built as a public park in the 1860s, the first white wooden bridges that characterize the park were also built at the time.Small brooks and waterways divide the park area into smaller and larger islands. Largest of the islands are Plaatansaari, Pakolansaari, Paratiisisaari, Kiikkusaari and Lasaretinsaari.     University of Oulu Botanical Gardens are located in the main campus of University of Oulu in Linnanmaa district in Oulu, Finland on the shore of Lake Kuivasjärvi. Botanical gardens were moved to Linnanmaa from the Hupisaaret Islands park near the city centre in summer 1983. Gardens are part of the department of biology at the university.Total area of botanical gardens is 16 hectares. While outdoor gardens grow plants suitable for local weather, there are two pyramid-shaped greenhouses housing plants from warmer climatic zones. The two pyramids have been named as Romeo and Juliet.

    Koitelinkoski is an outdoor recreation area located along the Kiiminkijoki river in the Kiiminki district in Oulu, Finland. The area consists of small islands dividing the free-flowing river into smaller streams and rapids. The Koitelinkoski rapids stretch about three kilometers on the river. The rapids are one of the most impressive ones on the Kiiminkijoki river.The larger islands are connected with suspension bridges. There is a summer café and an event stage on the largest, Sahasaari, island. There are several campfire sites scattered on the islands.
