Mbarara is a town in the Western Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Mbarara District and the site of the district headquarters.Mbarara is about 290 kilometres (180 mi), by road, southwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.[3] Mbarara is an important transport hub, lying west of Masaka on the road to Kabale, near Lake Mburo National Park. The coordinates of the Mbarara central business district are 00 36 48S, 30 39 30E (Latitude:-0.6132; Longitude:30.6582).[4]
Population[edit]
In 2002, the national census estimated the population of the town at 69,400. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) estimated the population at 82,000 in 2010. In 2011, UBOS estimated the mid-year population at 83,700.[5] In August 2014, the national population census put the population at 195,013.[1]
History[edit]
MBARARA GENESIS Early Travellers in Ankole and the Founding of Mbarara by an African, Asian and European Initiative. by David Weekes, (2014) ISBN 9780956550149 describes its founding in 1899 on an old royal site which had been abandoned.
Growth and expansion[edit]
Mbarara came from behind and developed to surpass Entebbe, Masaka, Gulu, and Jinja as the second-largest town in Uganda after Kampala and also second to Kampala in importance, industry, and infrastructure,[6] 3rd largest town in Uganda by population after Kampala and Kira and the fastest growing town in Uganda followed by Gulu.
Starting with 2000, modern buildings have been established including malls, arcades, plaza, and hotels. Modern hospitals have also been constructed including Mbarara Hospital, which is now a National Referral Hospital, Mbarara Community Hospital a private hospital located in Kyamugorani, Kakiika Division,[7] and Mayanja Memorial Hospital located in Nyamityobora Kakoba Division.[8]
On 7 August 2015 the Uganda cabinet approved Mbarara Municipality alongside other 5 municipalities to be [permanent dead link] granted a city status. As of 14 August 2015, the town is waiting for the approval of the parliament and the President.
Infrastructure[edit]
Mbarara is the home of Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST), founded in 1989.
With significance for all Ugandan cities, Mbarara was the host to the 2004 Annual General Meeting of the Uganda Local Governments Association on 1 October, which saw the changing of the organisation to its current structure in order to represent all Ugandan local governments. Mbarara remains an active member of this governmental association.[9]

Are you considering a move to a new Canadian city to make a better life?
If you are still considering where to move, you’d want to know that Alberta is the top moving destination in 2017.
Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests.
It is Canada's fourth most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces.
It has more than 600 lakes, and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields.
The Waterton Glacier International Peace Park is a biosphere reserve that straddles the southern border with the USA.
You can find several smaller towns and cities that are perfect for raising a family, finding a good job, or simply enjoying a quiet retirement.
Over the last five years the province of Alberta has seen it’s population skyrocket due to people coming to the province to find work.
The oil sands in Fort McMurray have been a popular landing spot for those making the move to the province,
but it isn’t the greatest place for you to be situated if you’re going to be in Alberta with your family. Fort Mac is one of the more pricier cities in Alberta.
Despite lower oil prices, Alberta’s economy has remained steady. That’s not to say things are perfect; unemployment has gone up slightly in 2016.
But all things considered, there are still many great reasons to move to Alberta.
With its scenic beauty, no provincial tax, and higher average wages anywhere in the country, Alberta offers a high quality of life that’s hard to find elsewhere.
We’ve taken a look at some statistics and compiled a list of the Best Cities to Live in Alberta.
Here are the 10 best places to live in Alberta, Canada for 2018:
1. St. Albert.
2. Edmonton.
3. Calgary.
4. Strathcona County.
5. Canmore.
6. Medicine Hat.
7. Jasper.
8. Camrose.
9. Lethbridge.
10. Banff.

Usually a safari tour starts early in the morning. Because in the afternoon the day is hot and some predators are not moving. The first place I visited was a kind of waiting room where the male coves wait to mate with the female. So it seems that the early stranger does not welcome the visit of the stranger. Mature herbivores appeared and disappeared. The world without predators was peaceful. I could not see the top predators, but I also had the fortune of meeting a family elephant crowd led by mature females. An elephant has a good memory and is said to remember a person or animal that afflicted him for a lifetime. Males are mostly living alone, and they are very intense and should not be approached in a hurry. Kajinga channel where you can see various animals. It is a paradise for birds, a place where many ornithologists and bird lovers are looking for. This boat travels only on the Kajinga channel and I am Patra. Boat tours, which run twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, say that the number of passengers in the rainy season is somewhat low, but that they must be booked at the dry season. There are also hippopotons by a group of African buffalo. Among the largest animals, hippopotamus is the most abundant, with about 2,000 inhabited. The Kajinga channel is known as a bird's paradise. The Kajinga Channel, where peaceful coexistence of various wildlife can be seen, is said to have attracted many algae scholars and birds-loving tourists. Especially here, you can get close to birds that have nests or habitats on nearby coasts by boat. This is the waterway connecting Lake George and Edward. Many hippopotamus, such as hippopotamus, cool down and breed in fresh water, and many birds are important places to feed and live.

16 Places You're Not Allowed To Visit
These 16 places are highly guarded and mysterious places are not easy to get to and visit like the dangerous radioactive Chernobyl.
Subscribe to Talltanic
7. The Colonel's LIttle Secret
Similar to the Coca Cola vault, Colonel Sanders really doesn’t want anyone else replicating his mighty fine, fingerlicking good recipe. He has a total of 11 herbs and spices he mixes in there and the recipe is stored in the an upgraded modern security facility at the headquarters in Kentucky. What are they putting in our chicken? According to rumor, even the President of KFC doesn’t know the recipe, so don’t try bribing the drive through to give it up.
6. Room 39
It’s not like anyone would willingly want to go to North Korea but if someone were to try to get into Room 39 it would be extremely difficult. At an undisclosed location, most likely in or near the capital of Pyongyang, lies a rumored headquarter that's in charge of North Korea's underground activities. They are mostly in charge of gathering foreign currency in whatever way possible. Whether it’s drugs, counterfeits arms deals the lists go on. If North Korea were to get a hold of a nuke, it would most likely have to come from foreign counterfeit.
5. Chernobyl
No one is legally able to visit the Chernobyl exclusion zone without permission from the Ukrainian government, which basically means it’s off limits. Some people are willing to take the risk to visit the abandoned city but it’s extremely risky especially for foreigners who don’t speak Russian well. The only way you’re getting in here is with a heavy bribe to the police if you’re stopped. In just a short period of time you might be able to get away with visiting the outskirts without too much bodily damage. The sludge that’s left here after the literal meltdown of the radioactive materials is known as the elephant's foot as you see in this photo is still extremely lethal. Just after 300 seconds of exposure gives you only 2 days to live. It’s actually still melting and could one day seep into the ground water. Good luck!
4. Ozyorsk, Russia
Sometimes entire cities can be completely off limits in Russia. Located in the Chelyabinsk Oblast Region, Ozyorsk is considered a closed town due to how close it is to the Mayak plant. However people do live here, you're just not invited to this one. The Mayak plant is a facility that processes nuclear waste and decommissions decaying weapons of mass destruction. It used to be a location where the Soviet Union would find its source of plutonium. The area is now polluted with industrial and radioactive waste.
3. Svalbard Global Seed Vault
If the world were to come to a tragic end or certain species of plants have become extinct, the svalbard seed vault has got their back! Located only 800 miles south of the North Pole in Norway lies a vault that has a set goal on preserving plant diversity and holding on to large amounts of seeds in the case of an emergency. More than 400,000 crop seeds are stored here and includes seeds for 32 varieties of potatoes. The Norwegian government spent 9 million dollars on this facility that one besides scientists can go to and maybe some day it’ll be useful.
2. The Demilitarized Zone
Also known as the 38th Parallel, the demilitarized zone was created at the end of the Korean War to keep the two countries at peace. It’s considered to be neutral territory that neither country is allowed to cross and at least a 10 mile wide buffer zone between the two. It’s most heavily militarized border in the worlds Near this zone, you’ll notice quite a few landmines, armed soldiers, watch towers. You can almost feel the tension about to burst. North Korea even built the 4 largest flagpole in the world in order to giver the southerners a view of communism. You’re really not allowed to visit this zone, and some how if you find away, you may bring on another world war.
1.Area 51 Nevada
No other place seems to be so secret yet well known at the same time. Also located within the isolated National Nevada Security Site, the government only recently admitted its existence. They claim to use the smooth, dry lake bed known as groom lake as a runway for experimenting with new aircraft. But do to the extreme restriction many wonder exactly what’s going on out there. Motion detectors and thermal body heat detectors are spread across desert and will detect anyone who thinks about coming close. Not to mention the constant surveillance of drones that relentlessly monitor the area for trespassers. Conspiracy theorist claim the government is holding extraterrestrial life forms or even their flying saucers at this location, but it’s restricted, i guess we’ll never find out exactly, will we?

Beautiful Landscapes of Central Mongolia | 2017 | DJI Mavic Pro | Sony A7RII
Central Mongolia is the true heartland of the country. Here, green pastures dominate the landscape and the land is dotted with sheep, goats, cows, and yaks. This region is home to historical sites and natural beauty, filled with vast spaces, green hills, forested mountains, pretty lakes, and even hot springs.
It is evident that unlike other parts of the country, herding is still a way of life here. This was our favourite part of the country and one that allowed us to feel the true pace of life in Mongolia.
