The Ochopee Post Office, Florida | The Smallest Post Office in United States
The Ochopee Post Office is the smallest post office in the United States. A regular stop on the south Florida tourist circuit. The historical marker at the post office offers up its history. The original Ochopee post office, established in 1932, was housed in a general store. When fire destroyed the store in 1953, Postmaster Sidney H. Brown opened a temporary post office in an irrigation pipe shed on a tomato farm. But temporary became permanent, and the erstwhile pipe shed has been a post office ever since.
The 8-foot-by-7-foot tool shed on the edge of the Everglades National Park in Ochopee, Florida. In an era where hundreds of post offices have been closed to save money, this post office survives on more than cuteness. It does real work, handling the mail for more than 500 residents of the sparsely populated corner of Everglades City, Florida. The post office is currently fully functional, serving the surrounding populations of Miccosukee and Seminole Indians. The U.S. Postal Service rents the tiny building for a mere $25 per month. Last year the revenues were $28,000. Good things, philatelically speaking, come in small packages.

Key West Rum Distillery - Wine Tasting - Garbo's Grill
Today Aspace For3 visited Key West Florida to take a tour of the Chef Distilled Rum Distillery. We had some free Rum sample and won a Bad Bitch Blonde bottle on a raffle. Bob from Road Island was an excellent tour guide. We also visited the next door neighbor Key West winery for some local Florida wine tasting. After our $20 wine tasting for 10 flavors and two Key West souvenir wine glasses we went over to Garbo's Grill for an amazing delicious meal. We had shrimp tacos and shrimp burritos. Super Flavorful! highly recommend it. Overall all the three locations were cool and lots of fun. Feel free to add to your to do list in Key West.

Big Cypress - Bear Island
made with ezvid, free download at Big Cypress - Bear Island - Feb 9, 2013 - Temperature 81 degrees, no bugs, no humidity, just a beautiful day. The first half is the journey, the second half are time-lapse sequences. How to get there? I-75 and get off at. Then go south about 5 miles and make left onto Wagon Wheel Road which zig zags northeast. Left onto Turner River road which goes back under I-75 in about 12 miles. Turner River Road ends at Bear Island campground. An OHV permit is required for access to the trail network (limited number sells out each year) the ranger station is on 41 about halfway between Marco Island and Miami. I entered at the west end of the campground, but I liked the east end better. Beware during rainy season, they will close the trails because it gets DEEP. Dry season can have wildfires. Pay attention to fire safety warnings, and bring the right equipment (tow hooks, strap, at least a hand-winch, fire extinguisher, and First Aid kit & lots of water) and a buddy... You'll be fine. Lookup the Caloosa Jeepers outta Ft. Myers, they make regular trail runs. Ask for Phil, tell 'em Joe sent ya ;)
13 Everglades - Tin Tent Camping Tour of America's National Parks
This video series chronicles Bill & Sandy Stine's six-month long, 2003, US camping tour.
The Everglades are way unlike any other National park. This subtropical wilderness is a fascinating place. It was unfortunate that damage from hurricanes Katrina and Wilma so damaged the park's Flamingo Visitor Center and its trails. We were fortunate, however, that we hit the park during the dry season when the wildlife concentrate in smaller, wet areas where we could see them. Sadly, and like so many ecosystems, the Everglades is in great danger, in this case due to water being drawn off for agriculture and the myriad of housing developments in that part of the state.
We pulled our hard-sided, Aliner-brand pop-up camper, that we call our Tin Tent, on a 180-day, 100-campground tour of many of the national parks across the US.
The entire 15-video series, while briefly describing the camper in chapter 2, is mainly about the places we visited and the things we did. Our full daily activity log with additional photos can be found under the Tin Tent Tour link on our home page at
All the photos were taken by a humble little Canon PowerShot S410 Digital Elph. Photos were edited using PaintShop Pro 7. Audio was recorded and edited using Roxio Sound Editor and the video was assembled in 9:16, 720p, using Roxio VideoWave 10.

5 John and Jane Doe cases
5 John and Jane Doe cases
CORRECTION: (3/11/2019) Just realized I made a semi huge error in my speculation about Lisa Sexton and the Lake Pontchartrain Jane Doe. Doe's body was found in 1986, so the fact that Lisa Sexton was last heard from in 1984 doesn't rule her out. For some reason, I was thinking Doe was found in 1983. Oops!
