Oologah is a town in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States. Renowned humorist Will Rogers was born on a ranch two miles east of Oologah, although he usually claimed Claremore as his birthplace because nobody but an Indian can pronounce 'Oologah.' There has been disagreement about the proper spelling for the town name. The official spelling is now Oologah. It was often spelled Oolagah before statehood, and this spelling appears on some old buildings.

1. Will Rogers Memorial Museum Claremore
The Will Rogers Memorial Museum is a 19,052-square-foot museum in Claremore, Oklahoma that memorializes entertainer Will Rogers. The museum houses artifacts, memorabilia, photographs, and manuscripts pertaining to Rogers' life, and documentaries, speeches, and movies starring Rogers are shown in a theater. Rogers' tomb is located on its 20-acre grounds overlooking Claremore and Rogers State University. Until March 7, 2016, the museum was managed by the Will Rogers Memorial Commission, a state agency. On that date, the Governor of Oklahoma signed legislation dissolving the state commission and transferring the property and all its assets to the Oklahoma Historical Society, another state agency.

Will Rogers Memorial Museum

The Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore features art and artifacts pertaining to the life of Oklahoma's favorite son, Will Rogers. Explore 12 galleries in the expansive 16,652 sq. ft. museum and you'll find countless photographs and manuscripts documenting Will Rogers' life as a trick roper, Vaudeville performer, movie star, radio commentator, newspaper columnist, author and philosopher. Classic Will Rogers movies also play in the museum daily. The grounds contain the tomb of Will Rogers chiseled with his famous quotation: I never met a man I didn't like.
