Beautiful Nature of Village Ostrov, Tisá, Czech Republic from Travel with Iva Jasperson
Beautiful Nature of Village Ostrov, Tisá, Czech Republic from Travel with Iva Jasperson
Hello everyone...
Village Ostrov was founded in the 15th century as one of the many hammers in the Bela river valley processing iron ore. When the ore deposits near the Děčínský Sněžník were mined, the hammer turned into a glass mill. Due to the picturesque location, a busy summer residence was built from the settlement in the 19th century, there were built hotels and several inns. After the end of the Second World War, the German inhabitants were expelled, the border closed, a unit of the Border Guards was stationed. Approximately 300 meters from the border, the border of the border was built, making part of the valley inaccessible to the public. From the hotels and hostels in the accessible part, there were company holiday resorts and most of the residential houses were used as holiday cottages. Buildings in the border zone were demolished in 1963. After the abolition of the border zone, this area was re-divided and sold for the construction of holiday cottages.

Prague's Slavonic Island - Praha Slovanský Ostrov
This is the Slavonic Island (Slovanský Ostrov), in the Vtlava River. Here you can find the Žofín Palace, where several important musicians presented concerts here, like Richard Wagner in 1863 or Ferenc Liszt and Hector Berlioz.
From this island you can appreciate both shores of the Vtlava River and Prague. Also Charles' Bridge can be seen from here.

Czech Republic Travel Guide - The Quaint Village of Holašovice
Take a tour of Historic Village of Holašovice in Holašovice, Czech Republic -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The Jankov municipality in Southern Czech Republic is home to a little village known as Holašovice.
Even though extremely small in size, it's unpretentious and somber atmosphere coupled with great architecture makes it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The impeccable Rural Baroque buildings scattered all around add to the lovely charm of this quaint village.
After the Second World War, Holašovice was abandoned and therefore, remained untouched by various changes which took place in the neighboring villages.
Owing to this fact, it has been considered an exemplar of rural Bohemian architecture.
In winters, the snow laden streets and rooftops, pretty houses, and the peaceful aura of this village give it an angelic, ethereal appearance.
Czech Republic From Dusk Till Dawn
In the centre of a chain of mountains on the border, with deep and meditative forests covering the slopes, we find the land of Bohemia, strewn with the silver coins of lakes and criss-crossed with the threads of rivers, or rippling with undulating highlands. In the east lie the historical lands of Moravia and Silesia, brightened with the endless plains of golden fields. History, recent as well as ancient, has left its mark on this blissful landscape, with many valuable and astonishing treasures in the form of historical towns, castles and chateaux, churches and cathedrals – true architectural and urban masterpieces of all the eras that came before us.
