Otley is a small unincorporated community in Marion County, Iowa, United States. Governed by state laws and county ordinances. It is located approximately 45 miles southeast of the capital, Des Moines, on Iowa Highway 163. The US Post Office has a ZIP Code of 50214. Otley has one post office and is home to Vyke Industries, Mills Mid-Iowa Machinery, LLC, Otley Reformed Church, and Two Rivers Co-op.

1. Amana Colonies National Historic Landmark Amana
The Amana Colonies are seven villages on 26,000 acres located in Iowa County in east-central Iowa, United States: Amana , East Amana, High Amana, Middle Amana, South Amana, West Amana, and Homestead. The villages were built and settled by German Pietists, who were persecuted in their homeland by the German state government and the Lutheran Church. Calling themselves the True Inspiration Congregations , they first settled in New York near Buffalo in what is now the town of West Seneca. However, seeking more isolated surroundings, they moved to Iowa in 1856. They lived a communal life until 1932. For eighty years, the Amana Colony maintained an almost completely self-sufficient local economy, importing very little from the industrializing American economy. (20 Jul 2018) A flurry of unexpected tornadoes swept through central Iowa, injuring at least 17 people and flattening buildings in three cities. Ten people were injured in Marshalltown and seven at a factory near Pella. No deaths were reported. (July 20)
