The Albanian Riviera is blessed with 300 days of sun.
The average temperature in January is 10 degrees C. and the average temperature in July is 25 degrees C.
The Ionian coastline is known for having fascinating beaches with deep and very clean waters. Younger crowds tend to visit the Ionian beaches as the area offers many opportunities for those interested in water sports like diving, boat tours, etc.
Some of the most exotic and interesting beaches in the south of Albania are Dhërmi, Jal, Himara, Qeparo, Borsh, Saranda and Ksamil.
From the Llogara Pass, which is 1,057 meters above sea level, the breathtaking coast can be seen as if from the vantage point of an airplane.
The first beach here is Dhraleos in Palasë which has a length of 1.5 km. This is one of the most exotic and tranquil beaches of the Albanian coastal zone complete with rich blue waters. This beach is popular for water sports and is sometimes even the destination for the parachutes that launch from Llogara Pass.
Dhërmi is located a little further south and is one of the most frequented and important tourist places along the Albanian coast. The crystal-clear waters, isolated beaches, water sports and diving make this the preferred beach of younger generation. The different beaches that are part of Dhërmi are Jaliksari, Shkambo and Gjipea. The beach of Gjipea has a beautiful shape. Past this beach there is a stream that has made a canyon with 70 meters high walls. Located near the beach of Dhërmi is the Cave of Pirates which tourists can access only by boat or ferry. There are also hotels, restaurants and summer clubs located nearby.
Throughout this entire area, family tourism has developed, where tourists can choose to rent guesthouses or reside in a variety of hotels nearby. Near Himara 8 km south of Dhërmi, you will find the village of Vuno, which is the central area of the Albanian Riviera. It is a tourist town that comes to life during the summer season thanks to the younger generations that come here.
In this area are beaches of Spile, Potam, Llamaniand and Livadhja. All of them stand out for their deep waters, navigability and rocky characteristics. After Borsh is Qeparo and the small tectonic gulf of Porto Palermo where Ali Pasha castle is located.
Borsh, is one of the longer beach areas of the Albanian Riviera protected by a collection of massive Mediterranean vegetation, primarily citrus and olive plantations. Family tourism has also become very popular in this area. Between here and the city of Saranda, one can find the beaches of Bunec, Kakome and Krokëy whose collective length runs about three km and each with beautiful, crystal-clear water.
The city of Saranda is the most populous urban area on the Albanian Riviera and a very big tourist destination, especially enjoyed by newly married couples on their honeymoon. The city and surrounding areas offer a range of hotels catering to five-star travelers as well as the more budget conscious, while home rentals also remain an option. The city is well-located on the coast only 9 km away from the Greek island of Corfu. Daily ferries offer connections between Saranda and Corfu making this southern Albanian city a good base for European and international tourists.
Along Saranda you will find some smaller beaches like Central and Liman. Usually, tourists prefer to visit one of the more frequented places, Ksamil, which is located between the peninsula of Ksamil and lagoon of Butrint hosting a number of hotels and restaurants, near the beach of Ksamil are 4 small islands covered by Mediterranean vegetation with a surface of 8.9 ha.

Tirana, Albania - Travel Around The World | Top best places to visit in Tirana
Top best places to visit in Tirana, Albania
Tirana is the capital and largest city of Albania.
Tirana, the center of the political, economical, and cultural life, was dubbed the City of Kiosks” for the many small-scale shops and outdoor cafes always full of people.
The Skanderbeg Square is the central and the largest square of the city, named after Albanian hero whose statue stands in the middle.
The Square features great buildings, such as:
The National Historic Museum, the main museum in Tirana
The Opera and Ballet Theater, and the Et'hem Bey Mosque, one of the most impressive mosques in the country.
West of Skanderbeg Square is the brand new Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral, featuring rich interior iconography.
South of Skanderbeg Square extends panoramic boulevard with several government buildings and cultural institutions.
In the vicinity of the boulevard, on the recently opened pedestrian street, are located:
The National Theater, the main theater in Albania.
A 6-meter remnant from the Ottoman-era, the Tirana Castle Walls.
And an exhibition hall hosting Albanian and socialist art, the National Art Gallery.
Across the boulevard is the Rinia Park and the Taiwan Complex, popular spot among Albanian celebrities.
And going more to the south is the Lana River, the city’s main stream.
On the other side of the river along the boulevard are situated:
More municipal and national government buildings.
The Pyramid, originally a museum, today a derelict structure untouched for years.
A cold war installation, the Postbllok, a checkpoint featuring concrete pillars from prison camp and an original bunker.
The Former Residence of Enver Hoxha, the communist leader of Albania.
The Palace of Congresses, a venue where numerous festivals and events are held.
And the Mother Teresa Square.
The square is surrounded by:
the Archaeological Museum, the University of Tirana and the Academy of Arts.
Behind this square starts the Grand Park, a popular green area perfect to walk around and enjoy an artificial lake.
The Statue of Mother Albania stands not far away from the park, in the Martyrs' Cemetery. From there is a beautiful view of the city.
Go to the top floor of the Sky Tower for an even better view of the downtown of Tirana.

Beachin' and nightlife in Dhermi , Albania! | Travel Video Guide
Dhermi & Albanian rivera travel guide on my blog:
Get $25-$40 off your first Airbnb stay!:
---
Hello guys! I'm an American named Nwando. Welcome to my Dhërmi, Albania travel vlog / diary. I hope this Dhermi video vlog can help guide your travel!
I had a great time partying and performing in Dhërmi, Vlorë, Albania! I arrived in Dhërmi by bus from Saranda. This bus takes the SH8 highway route (it goes all the way to north Albania). The bus left at 11am in the morning and arrived in Dhermi at around 1pm. The main road that connects from SH8 to Dhermi is called Rruga Perivolo. Most hotels and airbnbs are along Rruga Perivolo, which starts at the top of the SH8 and ends at the beach. My airbnb was about a 10 minute walk to the bus stop located on the SH8 and Rruga Perivolo corner, and 10 minute walk to the beach.
Dhermi is a small beach town that is located south of Tirana and Vlorë (Vlora) by about 5 and 3 hours each, and north of Saranda. It is about 30-45 mins by bus from Himara (Himare). I have heard there is an hourly shuttle bus between Dhërmi and Himarë, but I did not use it. Some other nearby beaches and towns are Drymades, Palasë, Jal (Jala), Vuno, Gjipe, Llagora Pass and Porto Palermo. I would suggest to stay in Dhermi if you do not have a car. If you are staying at the Sea Turtle camping in Drymades, you can actually get off at the Dhermi stop as well and walk down Rruga Perivolo and veer right down the path instead of left which takes you to Dhermi's beach and strip.
I really wanted to visit nearby Jal and Gjipe, but I was not able to because I did not have a car. It is really difficult to visit nearby towns without a car unless you hitchhike, do a lot of long walking or are willing to pay for a taxi that will probably cost at least 20 euro to visit these neighbor towns only 10-15 minutes away by car! Sucks! I really really wanted to check out Folie Marine (or is it Folie Marina ??) because it seems like the best night club north of nightclubs in Sarande. I have seen so many beautiful pics from Prive Lounge as well on Instagram. But unfortunately, not having a car and being on a budget greatly held me back. While I was in Dhermi, I spent most of my time partying at Havana Beach Bar. It was the most busy bar. I also performed there so it has a very special place in my heart. You can see my show in my other Dhermi vlogs.
Last thing I want to say is that there is a 2nd Havana Beach Bar location in Palase, so it might seem like the club is not as busy and happening in my videos compared to other videos you have seen about Havana Beach Bar online, and that is because the videos you see online are from the location in Palase. I just wanted to clarify that. The Dhermi location is definitely more quiet and not as much as a big DJ party as the Palase location.
And the last thing I want to say is... because everyone asks me, but there is no problem being black in Albania as a traveler. I have experienced ZERO racism in Albania. The Balkans is the most friendly place I have ever traveled to and a traveler being black in Albania is not an issue AT ALL. VISIT ALBANIA!!! :)
I can't wait to go back to Dhermi and visit all the nearby places I wanted to visit so much but was not able to. Të dua Dhermi!
