We had 3 days in Milan so we hit the ground running and tried to see and do as much as possible. We made time for major attractions like Il Duomo, Sforza Castle, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, but we also veered away from the crowds in search of street art and interesting neighborhoods. This being Italy, we also tried to prioritize meals, sampling everything from pizza to risotto, and cappuccinos to aperitivos. Our trip to Milan, Lombardy was part of the Blogville project where we stayed in a local apartment and experienced all of the best cultural activities, museums, restaurants, arts and entertainment the city has to offer. This city guide is our best attempt to create a mix of best attractions and off-the-beaten-path activities that you won't necessarily find in a typical Milan tourism brochure.
20 Things to do in Milan Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Our first stop was Il Duomo, which is the most recognized attraction in the city. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete.
So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast with cappuccino and sweet pastries.
Something that surprised us about Milan is that there is a castle right in the middle of the city. Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, and it then underwent several restorations and expansions in the following centuries. Today it houses several of the city's most prized art possessions, including frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo's very last sculpture.
For some upscale designer shopping, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the place to be.
So we just found a local little restaurant and we're going to be trying a traditional dish that is very popular in this city and in the Lombardy region. We are going to have Risotto alla Milanese.
The Colonne di San Lorenzo are the remains of Roman ruins that date back to the 2nd century. They are believed to have been part of a bath house.
Another fun activity to try in Milan is a boat tour of the canals. The city's canals are attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci, who in 1482 was called over by the Duke of Milan to help renovate the city’s canal system.
Milan's Navigli District is one of the liveliest parts of town especially when the sun goes down for dining al fresco.
So we've gone out for our first Italian Aperitivo. Which is kind of like a pre-dinner drinking tradition. Basically, you get yourself a cocktail for about 10 Euros and that gives you access to this massive buffet.

We first visited Cape Town in 2015 as the final stop on a monthlong trip across South Africa. However, by the time we arrived, we only had a couple of days to spare and the weather was less than ideal, so we didn’t get to see very much.
We knew we had to return to do the city justice and also film a proper Cape Town travel guide for you guys. This time around, we gave ourselves a full week to spare.
Our days were packed with sightseeing, and with visits to restaurants, chocolate shops, wineries and gin distilleries, so without further delay, let us show you 30 things do in Cape Town, South Africa.

Italian Breakfast in Milan, Italy
Recently we've spent over a month in England and Ireland. For breakfast, on a typical day, we've been eating the likes of eggs, sausages, bacon, and fried potatoes. It's basically been an all-star assortment of savory types of items washed down with tea. Now that we've found ourselves in Milan, Italy it's a whole other story. After consulting with some locals and doing a bit of research online, we've realized Italian breakfast is a sweet affair. Coffee or cappuccino paired with something sweet (pastries, cakes, breads, jams) is what a local would have more often than not. With this in mind we visited a cafe recommended by a friend to sample some sweet Italian breakfast.

Italian Breakfast in Milan, Italy Travel Video Transcript:
Well good morning from Milano, Italia. We are here in Italy. It is our first day, so we have gone in search of the Italian breakfast. Now we weren't entirely sure what an Italian breakfast looks like so we did a bit of research and asked around and apparently it is just a coffee and anything sweet. So that could be pastries, bread with jam, cake or cookies. So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast.
So my beverage of choice today is the cappuccino because it is a very cold day. And why not have some frothy coffee. It's a cold day. When is fifteen degrees considered cold? Look at the way I'm dressed. I'm cold okay?
Ooh, that is nice. Excellent cappuccino. Nice and rich and frothy? Mmmm.
Indeed. Wanna try some?
So this breakfast reminds me a bit of breakfast in France and also in Argentina. A sweet way to start the day and I have to say it is a quite a huge contrast and change from what we were used to in England and Ireland where we were having full savory breakfasts. With eggs and sausages and mushrooms. Lower calories and a lot sweeter.
And this pastry here I've selected, I honestly don't really know what it is. What made me select it was that I saw walnut bits. And hey, I'm a huge fan of walnuts so I don't know what is inside. It looks like it might be apple. Let's find out.
I thought it was going to be prunes. Mmmm.
No, no no. That is like pecan pie. That's pecan filling inside. Let's see the inside. Oh wow!
That is so delicious.
Oh, it's like having pecan pie.
Pie for breakfast. He's a happy boy.
And what do you have over there?
Well, this is the pastry I chose. It is a little twisty one with chocolate chips.
That is really good. It is very buttery and flaky. And you just can't go wrong with chocolate chips this early in the morning. I'm a fan.
So we're going to be here for a week in the Lombardy region and I can't wait to try as much Italian food as possible. It's one of my favorite cuisines.
And last but not least, price point? Well, this delicious breakfast for two came to five Euros and that included two cappuccinos and two pastries. So not an expensive way to start the day.
Yeah, talk about value. Mmmmhhmmm.

WEEK END EN AMOUREUX
Pour ceux qui souhaite effectuer une escapade super sympa dans le sud durant un pont de 4 jours, je vous conseille ce petit parcours que j'ai fais au mois de mai dernier.
J1: Descente jusqu'à Marseille et visite de la ville (Vieux port, centre, bord de mer etc.…) puis nuit à l'hotel.
J2: Rando dès 8 heures du matin de 15 kms dans les calanques (c'est entre Marseille et Cassis).
Départ du col de la Gardiole, puis journée dans cette magnifique garrigue à la Pagnol jusqu'aux calanques, nous nous sommes principalement positionné sur la calanque d'En vau car elle est vraiment magique est sauvage, ensuite après une pause sur la plage, c’est la remontée au belvédère pour longer les falaises en direction de Port Miou, puis retour vers le parking du départ, il est 17 h.
En toute fin d'après midi, visite de Cassis (très jolie ville) et retour à l'hotel à Marseille.
J3: Direction Cavaillon (+- 100 kms), passage à l'hotel, puis direction le sentier des Ocres à Roussillon (+- 25 kms de Cavaillon). Ce village du Luberon est superbe et c'est le départ du Sentier des Ocres. Là encore, un spectacle magnifique, cela vaut vraiment le détour, c'est un paysage unique aux couleurs incroyables.
Midi, on se dirige vers la superbe ville de l'Isle sur la Sorgue pour visite et repas, puis à 14 h, direction les Baux de Provence pour l'après midi. Ce village médiéval magnifique perché sur un piton rocheux et un site classé, des spectacles d'époque y sont organisés) vraiment c'est à voir.
Fin de l'après midi à se ballader à pied dans la foret des Alpilles.
Retour à l'hotel pour la nuit à Cavaillon.
J4: Apres un bon p'tit dej, les yeux remplis de paysages sublimes, c’est le retour à la maison.
Je vous conseille vraiment ce programme, cela vaut le détour et ce, pour un cout relativement moderé. Amateurs de photo, trip assuré.

O Cultivo das Uvas em Pérgolas nos Alpes Italianos [LEGENDADO | T13 E7]
O antigo sistema italiano de cultivo das vinhas em pérgolas resiste no Vale de Aosta, mas não sabemos por quanto tempo. O terreno íngrime dos alpes não permite o uso de qualquer maquinário na manutenção das vinhas e na colheita das uvas, tornando o trabalho extremamente cansativo.
Nesse video mostramos os vinhedos da PiantaGrossa, uma pequena vinícola familiar que mantém as tradições do cultivo. Ao final, falamos ainda com o Presidente da Cooperativa Caves de Donnas, que reúne a produção de pequenos produtores e a transforma em vinho Donnas DOC.
