Viaggio a Roma: Santa Maria Della Concezione
Father Reed and a crew from the CatholicTV Network made their way around Rome and the Vatican to create a new series entitled Viaggio a Roma - or - A Trip to Rome. This is exactly what this new series is, a trip around one of the greatest cities of the world to see and experience some of the most significant sites in ancient and Christian Roma.
Sites visited include the four papal basilicas, the Colosseum, Castel Sant' Angelo, Trastevere, the tomb of Pope John Paul II, the Vatican Gardens, Trevi Fountain, the Pontifical North American College and more.
In February, Roman CatholicTV continues with new segments premiering on This is the Day and Blink. The thirty segments on ancient and Christian Rome will be airing on CatholicTV (check local listings) all month. They will also become available at CatholicTV.com and on the CatholicTV iPhone and iPad app. Click on the Magazine tab to read more about Father Reed and the crew's visit to the Eternal City.

Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere - Rome
Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere - Rome. We walked over the river from central Rome and came across a mass at this church.
The Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere English- Our Lady in Trastevere- is a titular minor basilica in the Trastevere district of Rome, and one of the oldest churches of Rome. The basic floor plan and wall structure of the church date back to the 340s, and much of the structure to 1140-43. The first sanctuary was built in 221 and 227 by Pope Callixtus I and later completed by Pope Julius I. The church has large areas of important mosaics from the late 13th century by Pietro Cavallini.
