Pipestem State Park
Tag along with us on a trip through Pipestem State Park in Pipestem WV. We show you some of the many things to do. Camping, horseback riding, fishing, ride the tram down to the Bluestone river, tour the old homestead and nature center, visit the lake for a kayak or canoe ride, fish or hike and you can also stay at the Mckeever lodge.
It's a beautiful state park in southern WV between Princeton and Hinton on RT20. It's easily accessible off of I77 or US RT 460. You can visit wvstateparks.com for more information or to make reservations at the lodge or camp ground.

A drive around Beckley, West Virginia
This is a nostalgic drive for me. I used to live in the Beckley area. When I returned in 2017, I decided to drive around a few places that used to be familiar: the shopping malls, the skating rink, old restaurants and old neighborhoods. Now, many of these places have changed. If you aren't familiar with Beckley, this video probably won't mean much to you. But if you're from there, I hope that you'll see a few things you remember, and enjoy the ride.

I made this trip in August-September 2017. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

West Virginia's New River Gorge is Gorgeous
We spend a rainy, humid, day Over looking the New River Gorge, a Scenic Wonder in its own right, but a marvel of engineering with the bridge on US-19.

Ride to Grand Canyon of PA
The sky was angry that day, but the ride was spectacular. A Chapter Y overnighter to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania (who knew). The music is by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.
Top of the Ridge cabin, Snowshoe, WV
5 bedroom. 3 Master bedrooms each w/ private full bath. One ridge over from Snowshoe Resort & Raven Golf course this private cabin in WV faces Snowshoe's Cupp run and Shay's Revenge. 10 Minutes to Snowshoe entrance at the base of the mountain, ski/board rental shops, specialty shops, restaurants & grocery/gas, then another 10-15 minutes up to parking lots at Snowshoe or Silver Creek resorts. Total expected one way drive time between the Top of the Ridge and Ski resort parking is approximately 20-25 minutes.
4 WHEEL DRIVE IS REQUIRED IN THE WINTER. Gravel ridge road is plowed after each 3 inches of snow, however packed snow/icy conditions remain in the shady areas. Inquire about separate parking for 2 wheel drives
House sleeps 12. Pool table, ping pong, private hot tub with awesome views, 5.1 surround sound with DVD/CD/VHS library. Karakoe. Satellite TV in 3 bedrooms and living area, DSL wireless/wired internet. Gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, double oven, island stove. Dining area seats up to 10. Family radios reach Snowshoe resort to keep in touch with skiers. Most cell phones work here(att & T-Mobile, Verizon does not) Stone fireplaces: gas inside, wood outside under covered porch.
Aspen log beds throughout with plush mattresses covered by luxurious comforters. Rustic Locust tree hand and deck rails create a cabin appeal while retaining the comforts of home. Well trained pets are very welcome.
6 Acres-3 open & 3 acres of 3 to 5 foot tall grass/trees with a mowed maze for paintball battles. Bring all your own gear including Co2. Refills 25 minutes away in Marlinton at Appalachian Sports. Rent our 6 Paintball guns, CO2 tanks and masks for $125 for the weekend or the week.
Mountain Biking in West Virginia: BEECH FORK STATE PARK

WV Campsite Overview
This is my campsite in Tomlinson Run State Park in West Virginia. A beautiful ridge atop a mountain in the panhandle area. It's a long steep drop from the edge of the campsite down in the valley and then another mountain beyond which is the Pennsylvania border. July, 2011
