Discover Mauritius An Island Of Emotion - Unravel Travel TV
#Mauritius in the #IndianOcean is known for its sparkling crystal and turquoise waters. The contrast of colours, cultures and tastes makes the island a location for an unforgettable holiday. Mauritius offers the opportunity to unparalleled luxury, a level of refinement that is ahead of many other other tropical holiday destinations. Mauritius was named after Dutch Prince Maurice Van Nassau.
Mauritius' white beaches are protected by a coral reef barrier that encircles almost all of the coastline, with the exception of the southern end, where it falls away and where wilder waters and dramatic cliffs can be observed. From the northern plains, the land rises to a central plateau dotted by lakes and extinct volcanic craters. A few uninhabited islets area are scattered around the main island.
Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, was founded by the French governor and colonist Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais in 1735. Situated on the north-west coast, Port Louis is the business and administrative capital of Mauritius. Packed with office-workers during the day, it quickly quietens down after office-hours allowing visitors to enjoy a night out along the famous Caudan Waterfront.
The south reveals a dramatically different landscape from the rest of the island: one typified by high cliffs in places that are battered by waves. These are created where the protective barrier of coral reef that surrounds Mauritius falls away on the seabed, so leaving the coastline exposed to the punishing Indian Ocean. But the south is not singularly about cliffs and rough waters. Further round the coastline, heading westwards, is an array of beautiful beaches and top-rated hotels and resorts, in up-and-coming areas such as Bel Ombre.
The eastern coastline of Mauritius is comprised of exquisite coves and emerald lagoons, permanently enhanced by a cool sea breeze: life goes by at a slow pace in the east whether you're a member of the fishing community or a holidaymaker. Situated between the mountains and the sea, the east is characterised by charming little villages with poetic names like Petite Julie, Mare d'Australia and Queen Victoria. It also plays home to some of the country's best beaches, including Belle Mare, where you will want to spend hours basking in the sun, glorying in the sight of the long stretch of white sand.
To the west and south-west of Mauritius off Tamarin Bay or Flic en Flac, heading in the direction of Île aux Benitiers, you can see the dolphins that come to these waters to rest and breed. The Morne Mountain, with its historical links to slavery, can also be found in this region --as well as some fine hotels are known for their wide choice of watersports. Slightly inland, in the hills around Chamarel, is the rum distillery that bears the name of the village. Here, you can learn about rum production and taste some of the delightful produce.
Inland & Central Plateau of Mauritius is the 'highlands' where you will discover the island's four other major towns. In Quatre Bornes, head for the local market if you want to do some bargain-hunting. In Curepipe, where it is generally cooler than elsewhere on the island, try visiting the botanical gardens. In the early evening, the gardens of the Plaza -- the municipal theatre of the town of Rose Hill -- fill up with families who come to relax and enjoy an ice--cream. This is a heart-warming sight definitely worth beholding. Vacoas, meanwhile, is most renowned for its Gymkhana Golf Club the oldest in the southern hemisphere.

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Occitanie, France | Day 1 Argelès-sur-Mer, Collioure, Port-Vendres
Explore the beauty of Mediterranean coast hiking with us! Discover the variety of landscapes and scenic beaches, its flora and fauna, historical places and small villages. These video series is devoted to the Catalonian part of it, starting from the French village Argelès-sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orientales all the way to the Spanish village of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus cape on the Costa Brava. Immerse yourself in the peaceful holiday mood and we bet you'll find a place to put on your travel bucket list and to visit on your next vacation! Or even dare to do this hike yourself!
It was our first day of the Great Mediterranean Hike when we walked 17 km from Argeles Plage to Port-Vendres outskirts. It is all started the night before when it was raining cats and dogs and the wind was blowing fiercely. Because of that we woke up pretty late in the morning and even considered for a moment to give up on a hike because of the bad weather. But we've been already postponing this hike for so long because of that so finally we put ourselves together and started walking. Luckily the weather was favourable all day long. And even though it was the weekend we didn't met too many people on the way. The day was full of great views, different landscapes, and exceptional variety of flowers (some of them we haven't even seen before!). We enjoyed very much the route that goes from Argeles to Couilloure, it is not very long, but still offers you all the richness of landscapes of the region. We got lost several times in small villages but finally managed to find the route signs, just had to look close. There was no long gaps between the marking, they were everywhere. First, we walked through Argeles village which is by our opinion a perfect holiday destination for everybody with nice wide sandy beaches, lots of activities offered and plenty of campings to stay in. Then we entered the village of Couilloure where the architecture that surrounds you speaks for itself, it immerses you in the history and creates bohemian atmosphere. Finally we reached Port-Vendres where we had a little time to spend but our first impression was that it is an old city with quite a big port with deep waters (we've seen a cruise ship parked there) and active fishing market(we could say it by a strong smell of fresh fish). At the end of the day we were running out of time, the sun was setting and we realized that we won't get to our planned destination which was Banyuls-sur-Mer. It meant that we had to walk around 8 km more to our camping and we very already more than tired. So we had no other option left that just find a place to stealth camp. So we had to gather our powers and walk several kms more till we find a spot at a vineyard close to the seaside. It was the only place with relatively flat surface and it is the most unusual place we've camped at so far. So we quickly prepared and ate some dinner and fell asleep right away overwelmed by the first and is it turned out the hardest day of our trip.
Here is the link to Google Earth map to follow the hike:

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

Places to see in ( Nice - France ) Saint Jean Cap Ferrat
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Italian: San Giovanni Capo Ferrato is a commune of the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. It is located on a peninsula next to Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Villefranche-sur-Mer and extends out to Cap Ferrat. Its tranquillity and warm climate make it a favourite holiday destination among the European aristocracy and international millionaires.
The history of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat shows that the town was known to the ancient Greeks as Anao, the site of present days Cap Ferrat was first settled by Celto-Ligurian tribes, then by the Lombards at the end of the 6th century. Sant Ospizio (or Saint Hospice), a hermit friar, is said to have inhabited a tower on the Eastern part of the peninsula.
Nicknamed as one of the pearls on the French Riviera, this quiet fishing village is renowned in the whole world for its peninsula of lush vegetation and rocky beaches, close to other popular resorts such as Èze, the Principality of Monaco and Cannes. Paloma beach southeast of the port, on the north side small peninsula (St Hospice). Being on a northeast-facing shore and at the base of some tall cliffs. The location is about a 5–10 minutes walk from the port.
Passable beach is on the northwest side of the main peninsula, past the Office de Tourisme and past the zoo (parc zoologique). It's west-facing, with a view across the Rade de Villefranche. Cro de Peï Pin is the biggest beach, located just north of the port at the Anse Lilong (the bay between the main peninsula and the smaller Ste Hospice peninsula), facing eastward into the Baie des Fourmis and the Tete de Chene. There's a public parking lot alongside the beach.
The Zoo du Cap-Ferrat, closed down in 2011 had an impressive collection of fauna and flora. There were over 300 varieties of plants, including succulents and cacti. There were also eucalyptus trees that were over 100 years old. A variety of animals also resided in the zoo.
A spot of St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is the lighthouse, built in 1862 by decision of Napoleon III who wanted to equip the French littoral with a semaphoric chain. The goal was to ensure a monitoring of navigation, to transmit messages to the ships, to organize the helps in the event of maritime disasters, to take part in the first maritime meteorological observations.
Built in 1908, this stately white palace, hosted many worldwide personalities since it was erected, such as Paul Deschanel, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, Queen Victoria's daughter, who remained a guest for many seasons and was often visited by her brother the Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, who lived for twenty years on Cap Ferrat.
