Huffington Post:
Now, where to travel in Nicaragua? I have often been asked, where my favourite place to travel in Central America is and after having given it a lot of thought, I concluded it is Nicaragua. Now of course, currently in 2018, Nicaragua is going through some tough times, but tourism will return to Nicaragua and the doors will open to travel Nicaragua once again and when you do plan to visit Nicaragua, you can use this top 5 places to travel in Nicaragua video to outline my personal favourite places, cities and towns in Nicaragua.
Here we go through my favourite 5 places you should visit when travelling Nicaragua starting at #5 The Corn Islands. Off the coast of Nicaragua, Big and Little Corn Island are two paradisical chunks of sand completely surrounded by gorgeous water. Sit back and relax!
My 4th favourite place in Nicaragua is the fun beach party town of San Juan del Sur. A lot of people love San Juan as it is called in Nicaragua, and as much as I did enjoy it, I was not in Nicaragua to just party so I found San Juan del Sur fun, but there were other better places.
San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua:
The biggest surprise whilst travelling through Nicaragua was my third favourite place, Leon in the north of Nicaragua. A place I thought only existed on the tourist trail for Volcano Boarding, Leon is actually a very cool, and authentic city!
Volcano Boarding in Leon, Nicaragua:
2nd best place in Nicaragua is Granada and Laguna de Apoyo. The town of Granada is gorgeous and colonial and right beside it is the volcano crater lake of Laguna de Apoyo, a pairing that is an absolute must visit when in Nicaragua.
Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua:
The BEST Places in NIcaragua whilst travelling through, I found was ... ISLA OMETEPE. The island of Ometepe is a volcano island located in the enormous lake which covers a large area of Nicaragua and it is an unusual lost world that I simply loved. The video below shows us scootering around the island, one of the best days of my life.

Nicaragua - Gigante - Playa Gigante
Let's travel Nicaragua. My first time in this beautiful country with amazing and helpful people. The people will smile at you and at same time be a little curious as who you are if you look like a foreign. But no worries, your odds of getting bothered by any one is very low risk.

HOW TO TRAVEL IN NICARAGUA
An unforgettable two week backpacking trip to Nicaragua in 2014. Locations visited included; Managua, Big Corn Island, Little Corn Island, Granada, San Jorge, Las Islatas, Isla de Ometepe, Volcan Concepcion, Playa Santo Domingo, San Juan Del Sur, Playa Remanso, Rivas, Playa Gigante, Guacalito, Playa Santana, Popoyo, and Magnific Rock.
Highlights of the trip were hanging out with @bloggeries from stophavingaboringlife.com while on Little Corn, scuba diving with wild dolphins and night diving, climbing the 5,280 ft active volcano Concepcion in Lake Nicaragua. Other highlights included surfing in San Juan Del Sur and the other amazing northern pacific beaches including Playa Gigante, Popoyo, and the breaks at Magnific Rock. If you are lucky enough to be in San Juan Del Sur on a Sunday, you must attend the famous all day pool crawl which was epic. I missed my flight out and had to spend an extra day down here...shucks.

Once through the Gate where you will pay an admission (Ours was included in our Shuttle)...Head down the dirt or mud road, and through some streams while dodging a few cows on the road. There is a little parking area with a path to the Beach.
Playa Hermosa is popular with surfers of all skill levels. The Beach has a surf school and rental shop. There is also an EcoLodge for longer visits.

The best of Nicaragua beaches on the Pacific Ocean Coasts
Jiquilillo,
Within the Estero (Stuary) Padre Ramos Natural Reserve in Chinandega, Jiquilillo is one of the largest coasts, (3 miles), and considered one of the most important resorts on the Pacific Coasts.
For its strong waves, in recent years this shore has drawn the attention of national and foreign surfers, who from early in the day go out to hit the waves.
Poneloya and Las Peñitas
These two beaches are next to each other and about 5 miles from the city of Leon and destination of the people of this city and other places of Nicaragua and abroad.
Las Peñitas is another of the excellent places for surfing, this beach is frequently chosen for international surfing events.
Montelimar
Montelimar is 40 miles from the city of Managua.
Montelimar features luxurious Hotel Barceló Montelimar, most visited by local and foreigners for the beautiful beach and excellent promotions offered.
Pochomil y Masachapa
These two beaches are next to Montelimar, possible the most popular beaches of Nicaragua and receive huge amount of visitors specially on Holy Week and summer time.
La Boquita, Casares and Huehuete
La Boquita, Casares and Huehuete are beaches next to Montelimar southbound.
Less crowded but not least appreciated, these beaches serve more visitors from their neighboring cities Diriamba and Jinotepe.
Popoyo, Tola
My most recommended to visit Popopo where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, confortable and suitable to spend with family and friends. The beautiful and more attracting and almost virgin landscapes, sand, clear water will delight you and make you feel like being in your private beach.
Popoyo also has excellent waves for surfing and also most recommended for this water sport.
The only inconvenience, even thou every kind of vehicle can make the trip is some 10 miles of dirt and rocks road.
San Juan del Sur
This small town is surrounded by mountains and hasa bay with a huge beach about 2 miles long white sand, its waters is widely practiced fishing and stringline submarine.
San Juan del Sur recently receive the visits of Michael Douglas and Katherine Zeta Jones, Morgan Freeman and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter who in company of family and friends received the New Year 2014.
From San Juan del Sur following a road northbound and at a short distance you will find the famous beaches Majagual and a little more Maderas Beach another great place for surfing.
All beaches on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua account for excellent hotels, guesthouses restaurants, and also you can rent a houses with all commodities for short periods of times..
Our beaches are very nice, suitable and affordable for having a great vacation. The beautiful landscapes, sand, clear waters and others will delight you and your family.
If you are considering retiring and like the beach, look no further, Nicaragua is one of the most affordable places to live. Properties, food, public services and many benefits for retire people you can have in Nicaragua. Developments are building urbanizations all over the Pacific coast of Nicaragua where you can still buy a house or a piece of land at more affordable prices than the rest of the world.

Nicaragua Best Beaches Caribbean
nicaragua best beaches caribbean, It is the best beach in the world.
Looking for a Caribbean getaway where you can escape the daily grind as well as the crowds?
Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast is wild, untouched and thumping to a musical beat.
Not many travellers make it to the area, so when we found out that Lonely Planet author Alex Egerton is in the area working on a music project.
we thought we'd pick his brains for its best-kept travel secrets.
Why go to Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast?
Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast has many things going for it - natural beauty, rarely visited, great food.
But for me the most appealing thing about the area is its raw culture.
Nothing is put on for the tourists; from the colourful parades and wild block parties of Maypole in Bluefields.
to moonshine-inspired reggae and calypso jam sessions on rickety piers in remote communities, the area is awash with real culture a million miles from the glitzy resorts.
