Highlights From The Road to 150 British Columbia Episode:
Canada's westernmost province is packed with jaw-dropping scenery and incredible adventures. Home to some of Canada's most varied landscapes, ranging from desert and ocean to mountains and forest, there truly is something for everyone in British Columbia.
We explored the BC from Sept 6 - Sept 28, 2017.
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We drove to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Vancouver island's Pacific Marine Drive
The Pacific Marine Loop is a 5 hour, paved road tour from Victoria, north through the developed Duncan area to Cowichan Lake, through the rugged interior to Port Renfrew, then back via Sooke to Victoria. Excellent stops like Botanical Beach, Fairy Lake, Jordan River (surfing) etc are along the well known part but the hour from Lake Cowichan to Port Renfrew is not well used. Although well paved, it is an active logging area so stay alert for loaded trucks and have a good look at various forestry policies. Everything from clear cut and eroded cliffs to replanted, some original growth trees, and even some beautiful rivers. Skutz Falls on the Trans Canada Trail and Giant Spruce are highlighted in this video.

HIKING | The West Coast Trail - British Columbia, Canada
The West Coast Trail is a 75 km trail Between Bamfield and Port Renfrew on British Columbia's, Vancouver Island, Canada. The trail can be hiked North or South, and takes approximately 5-7 days to complete. The trail follows a challenging mixture of ladders, bridges, bogs and rivers through the forest and on the beach.
The trail was originally built in 1907 to facilitate the rescue of shipwrecked survivors along the coast, known as the Graveyard of the Pacific. It is now part of the Pacific Rim National Park and is often rated by hiking guides as one of the world's top hiking trails.
The West Coast Trail is open from May 1 until September 30. It is accessible to hikers outside this period, but Parks Canada does not guarantee the accessibility of services (such as search and rescue) in the offseason.
You can find more information about the trail on the Wikipedia page here:
If you are interested in reserving your spot for the upcoming season, registration generally opens around January, and you can reserve your spot here:
I recommend booking as early as possible, as spots fill up very fast. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Enjoy!
