Day 14 on our Round The World Trip for Food: Rome, Italy - On our very first day in Rome, we set off early in the morning to see some of the most famous attractions in Rome, including the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After doing some more sightseeing and having lunch, we had an amazing Roman food at a restaurant in Rome called Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino.
00:37 Breakfast at the hotel - To begin the day of sightseeing in Rome, we had breakfast at the hotel, and did the final planning of the day.
2:12 Colosseum - One of the most important and well recognized attractions in Rome is the Colosseum and we arrived pretty early to get in, and I also had pre-purchased my tickets online to attempt to beat the crowds and not have to waste time waiting in line. It worked well, and as soon as the Colosseum opened, we went through security and got in. It was an amazing sight to see, especially because it was so quiet when we arrived.
3:51 Roman Forum and Palatine Hill - Locate in the same area as the Colosseum is the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and so that’s where we went next. Again, seeing the ancient ruins of Rome was truly spectacular.
5:48 Trattoria Luzzi - I wasn’t quite sure where to eat lunch, and located right around these famous attractions in Rome, there are a lot of expensive, and probably not so good restaurants. We decided to go check out a restaurant called Trattoria Luzzi, just down the road from the Colosseum on the opposite side of the road. I ordered Trippa Alla Romana, a Roman tripe dish and also a pasta of Amatriciana. Overall, the food was good, and it was a friendly little restaurant and the location was good. Total price - 21 EUR ($23.47).
10:31 Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano - After lunch we headed to Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, a huge basilica in Rome. Right across the plaza is Scala Sancta, a small chapel with a 28 step staircase where Jesus is believed to have ascended.
13:25 Gelateria Valentino - I don’t know of anyone that goes to Rome without eating some gelato, and right around the Trevi fountain area of Rome, you’ll find a lot of gelato spots. We tried Gelateria Valentino. Gelato - 3 EUR ($3.35)
14:50 Trevi Fountain - Another one of the most iconic attractions in Rome is the Trevi fountain. We didn’t spend too much time there, but it is pretty cool to see in person.
16:25 Amazing Italian Roman food at Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant - For dinner, my wife and I met up with Valentina and Antonio. After walking through the amazing narrow lanes of Rome, we navigated our way to Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant, where they had made a reservation for dinner. The restaurant is exactly what you want in a classic Roman Italian food restaurant, a family style restaurant that offers an abundance of Roman dishes. We first started with some types of Roman pasta including cacio e pepe, and carbonara, all of which were incredible - the best pastas I’ve ever had. Then we moved on the an amazing assortment of main Italian food dishes, including veal, lamb, and so many other amazing dishes. It was an Italian food meal like I’ve never had before. Most of the dishes were Roman food style. Thank you Valentina and Antonio for the amazing dinner!
Day 14 in Rome was an amazing day of visiting some of the most famous attractions in Rome and eating some incredibly delicious Italian food!

NEW JOB IN AUSTRIA (airparc)
BLOG POST LINK:
I woke up to a cold van because I didn’t have the wood burner on during the night and it was a little chilly just using blankets. I got up early to go to the hardware store and the bakery. Somehow both didn’t open at 8 as it said on the internet. I was waiting until half past 8, driving back and forth between the two, to see which one is going to be open first. I should’ve had a look before, because this day was a national holiday, and nothing would open that day.
I was going back to the spot, where I started off with and had some coffee and breakfast. It was a beautiful, sunny morning and I decided to repair the fridge plus have done a little insulation work for the windows.
Chris came around and we went on a short walk down to the river and checked out how it would be like kayaking the whole thing in spring, because he does whitewater kayaking.
Afterwards I got a call from my boss, who I asked for a job and he said we would meet up the day after.
This night I lit up the first fire in Austria and the chimney was smoking very well. It was hot, when I went to bed and cold again as I woke up. Will see how I tackle that problem. After breakfast and the talk with the Airparc boss, I finally had an answer on my job application. He told me that I couldn’t do the normal employee job, as most people do there but rather do a new homepage and videos for him. It is not for certain yet, because he will have a chat to his partner first and then will give me an answer very soon. It sounds very promising though!
I still have a lot of stuff laying around in my van and it is quiet annoying. Really frustrating to be always moving things back and forth.
I went on a small tour around the area to find a possible parking spot but wasn’t really successful. The insulation parts I have done for the windows are tight in place now. I used some timber planks to jam them into place, so that they’re tight against the window.
Because I went to the hardware store and supermarket, I now own a wood saw and got some bricks of compressed wood. They’re supposed to last longer inside of the fire stove. Will see how they’ll work.
I went to the Airparc for an instruction that my boss told me to do. It is the instruction you do with everyone, who visits the Airparc for the first time. I got some footage and was jumping a little bit. It took a while getting used to the tramps because they’re so crazy good.
Once I got out of the Airparc I found myself into the first bit of snow that came down. I had some easy tea and went to bed.
The compressed wood, I bought didn’t really work that well. It was still cold that morning and we had the first couple of centimetres of snow.
I got a phone from my boss and I am now officially a member of the Airparc team. On top of that I can use all the Stubay (wellness centre) parts of the building. This is very exciting!
Chris came around, we went for a nice swim and so I made use of my employee status without having even worked there yet. Had some avocado, cheese and bread for brunch and went on a short walk around the town.
Mission of this day was to fix the tap and I works awesomely!
Coming back to all this stuff in my van, it is really demotivating and it does make me lazy, because I am not keen to do anything when everything is so cramped up.
My boss asked me to do the job people usually do on the next morning and so I had to go in that night for a quick introduction.
Another night, another try to make the wood burner last all night. I tried another technique and set an alarm for the night, so I can stack it up again.
So much for those few days. Lots to do at the start with barely any routine. Will see how things come along.

Belize You me!.avi
Visiting Belize is mostly a pleasant experience for me and i always look forward in making that annual visit. I was born there, but relocated with relatives back in 1971. Belize has proven to be the choice location for those wanting to escape the harsh winter of the North. Besides the favorable temperature, Belize is also a favorite destination because of the following:
* Belize is one of the most easily accessible of all tropical locations by geography and entry requirements.
* Belize is English speaking thus making it easier for you to get around by yourself, within a group or if you have special needs that need to be addressed.
* This is the dry season in Belize which means that you should have no problem predicting bright, sunny skies during your vacation.
Belize in Summer
Belize is also the ideal place for those needing a summer break, which although tropical, may provide cooler temperatures than home. During the summer months it is also true that:
* Belize receives less visitors giving you the opportunity to find the privacy and isolation you desire.
* Although it is the rainy season, these showers of blessing are sporadic and short in duration, thus not likely to ruin your vacation plans.
* The best feature about spending a summer vacation in Belize is the summer savings. Rates start falling from around May 1st. and remain slashed until November at most places.

WHAT TO BRING - CLOTHING
Belize is a very informal country, with a very casual lifestyle. Unless you are invited to a Government function, please leave your after five attire at home.
Leave your jewelry and expensive watches at home because you will not need them. If you must have a watch, bring an inexpensive watch that is suitable for diving and hiking.
If you are visiting the Cayes and/or the Barrier Reef, bring your shorts, T-shirts, and bathing suits, as well as some comfortable tennis shoes or deck shoes. Sandals or watershoes may be appropriate for some situations. As the sun is probably more intense than what you are used to at home, bring a cap to protect your head from the tropical sun when you are boating and/or fishing. In addition to protecting your eyes from both the sun and the reflective glare off of the water, a pair of polarized sun glasses will enhance the variable colors of the coastal waters of Belize.
Loose fitting, light colored cotton pants and camping shirts, along with a comfortable pair of hiking shoes or boots are appropriate for exploring the Mainland or trekking through the rain forest. When visiting the Maya Ruins or traipsing through the jungle, a hat with a wide brim will provide shade from the tropical sun, as well as provide protection from a tropical shower.
Be aware that water, beverages, and snacks are not always readily available while sightseeing; so a day pack, to carry a water bottle, energy bars, camera, film, binoculars, poncho, hand towel, etc. is a welcomed accessory. Although you do not wear it, a hiking staff can prove to be a valuable aid to climbing ruins, crossing streams, or walking up or down steep trails.
