Pyeongchang is a county in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea, located in the Taebaek Mountains region. It is home to several Buddhist temples, including Woljeongsa. It is about 180 km east southeast of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and connected by expressways and high-speed passenger railways. Pyeongchang's slogan, Happy 700 Pyeongchang, is taken from its average elevation of approximately 700 metres . Pyeongchang hosted the 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2018 Winter Paralympics. To avoid confusion with Pyongyang, North Korea, it has been officially rebranded as PyeongChang for the Olympics and the Paralympics.

    The Museum SAN is located in Oak Valley, in the mountains of Wonju, South Korea. It was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando and is under the administration of the Hansol Cultural Foundation. The museum, which is composed of a welcome center, flower garden, water garden, stone garden, main building, and James Turrell exhibition hall, focuses on the interaction of art and nature. Other facilities include a print shop, cafe, and museum shop. The museum receives about 1 million visitors per year, and was shortlisted for the Leading Culture Destinations of 2015 award, Asia section, by leadingculturedestinations.com.
