Ramat Hasharon puts art out on the street
Sidewalk chalk drawings and recycled sculptures kick off an interactive international street art festival marking the city's 90th anniversary.
Ramat Hasharon is on track to becoming a go-to place for art and culture, and an international festival in July set the tone just in time for the municipality's 90th anniversary.
Our aim is to make unique things in Ramat Hasharon... and this festival is one of a number of all-round activities we make all through the year and one of its highlights, says Guy Kellner, a city official. This is our goal -- to make something unique that will last many years, and that will be one of the top culture activities in Israel.
Chalk artist Yonatan Gal was one of the expert painters, environmental sculptors and musicians from Israel and Holland, Italy, the United States and Russia who contributed their diverse talents to the festivities. It's only two dimensions and it's only basic chalk or pastel, he shows onlookers in this video. From this direction you can see the illusion at its best and you can see that it looks like three dimensions, like a hole in the ground.

Tel-Aviv -Jaffa - Israel - The Movie. Tour guide: Zahi Shaked
Tel Aviv-Yafo (Hebrew: תֵּל־אָבִיב-יָפוֹ, lit. Spring Hill-Jaffa; Arabic: تل أبيب, Tall ʼAbīb),[2] usually referred to as Tel Aviv, is the second most populous city in Israel, with a population of 404,400.[1] The city is situated on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline, on a land area of 51.4 square kilometres (19.8 sq mi). It is the largest and most populous city in the metropolitan area of Gush Dan, home to 3.3 million residents as of 2010.[1] The city is governed by the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality, headed by Ron Huldai. Residents of Tel Aviv are called Tel Avivians.[3]
Tel Aviv was founded in 1909 on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa (Hebrew: יָפוֹ, Yafo; Arabic: يافا, Yaffa). The growth of Tel Aviv soon outpaced Jaffa, which was largely Arab at the time. Tel Aviv and Jaffa were merged into a single municipality in 1950, two years after the establishment of the State of Israel. Tel Aviv's White City, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, comprises the world's largest concentration of Bauhaus buildings.[4][5][6]
Tel Aviv is classified as a beta+ world city.[7] It is a major economic hub, home to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and many corporate offices and research and development centers.[8] Its beaches, parks, bars, cafés, restaurants, shopping, cosmopolitan lifestyle and 24-hour culture have made it a popular tourist destination for domestic and overseas tourists alike, contributing to its reputation as the city that never sleeps.[9][10][11] Tel Aviv is the country's financial capital and a major performing arts and business center.[12] The economy of Tel Aviv was ranked second in the Middle East,[13] and 50th globally by Foreign Policy's 2010 Global Cities Index.[14] It is the most expensive city in the region, and the 19th most expensive city in the world.[15] New York City-based writer and editor David Kaufman named it the Mediterranean's New Capital of Cool.[16] In 2010, Tel Aviv has been named the third-best city in the world by Lonely Planet, third-best in the Middle East & Africa by Travel + Leisure magazine, and one of the best beach cities in the world by National Geographic

A Day of Remembrance, Yom HaShoah Apr. 19, 2012
Israel Vlog
Yom HaShoah יום השואה (Remembrance Day) in Israel is a time when all of Israel comes to a complete halt on the 27th of the Hebrew month of Nissan (this year Apr 19th). From10:00 o'clock to 10:02am Air Raid sirens fill the air, not as a sign of war but as a sign of remembrance. People stop walking, cars stop driving for a moment of silence in remembrance of the people who lost their lives unjustly in the Holocaust and WWII fighting for good.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
