Bong Voyage- Quebec Ep 3- Rotten Cheeses at Rawdon Falls
Location details below!
Bong Voyage is a series which chronicles my travels around the world in a pursuit to seek out the most beautiful and inspiring places, in cannabis-friendly locations (mostly).
We begin this journey with our own backyard, the province of Quebec where our natural beauty is reflected in our slogan La Belle Province which translates to The Beautiful Province. So diverse and unique, you will definitely remember, as our poorly translated official motto points out, Je me souviens!
.
On this episode, we visit one of the most famous watering holes close to the city. If you're an immigrant, your parents probably brought you there as a youngster, it's sort of a rite of passage in becoming a Canadian. For those who are not familiar, I'm talking about Rawdon.
Park des cascades is the main attraction and it is quite a unique place with big rocky outcrops which allow smaller rivers and waterfalls to flow through them creating natural jacuzzis, perfect for hanging out in. The vibe is super laid back, and it does get hectic sometimes and now, they even have a convenient store that blasts reggeaton all day on their outdoor speakers.
Here are the coordinates to park des Cascades:
If it gets too crowded, you can always drive a couple of minute down the street to the all mighty Dorwin Falls, where the vibe is much more relaxing and quiet. Here are the coordinates:
Swimming is forbidden on the upper level of the falls so it's more of a place to go hang out and soak in the beautiful natural surroundings.
Your day pass gives you access to both Dorwin Falls and Parc Des Cascades as well as the municipal sandy beach which we did not explore on this episode because it's not nearly as cool and beautiful as the other locations.
We also tried some local products which turned out to be a letdown, kind of what is happening with the legal cannabis market here in Canada.
Hope you enjoy this episode and remember to consume responsibly!

Rawdon, Quebec
My grand-parents had a house not too far from Rawdon so I got to spend a lot of time next to a lake and surrounded by nature. I try and visit at least once a year, it`s a beautiful city with a lot to do. Always feels like home to me.

Cedar Meadows Resort, Spa and Wildlife Park - The Ultimate Northern Ontario Road Trip
If you’ve been on a vacation that involved both Nordic spa and a rare white elk before, this may be old news. But you haven’t. Hot tub, steam room, sauna, wildlife sanctuary—one of these things may not seem like the others, but the combination is what makes Timmins’ Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa one of a kind.

The Black Diamond Mine
The Black Diamond Mine - one of the oldest mines in the region - is so old that its early history has been mostly lost to time. However, it is believed that the site was originally discovered by a group of Chilean miners. It has a fairly unique structure in that it is a vertical shaft plunging down into the Black Diamond Ridge and four separate and distinct tunnels intersect with the shaft at varying levels down the face of the ridge. Picture an E with an extra leg sticking out and you'll have the rough idea.To see inside the lower levels, follow the link below for the video of our return visit:
THE LARGEST CAVE IN NOVA SCOTIA - Full Explore
Come along deep into the Arch Cave (Baddeck, Cape Breton). The largest/longest cave in Nova Scotia! This cave has only been fully explored within the last few years, and only a handful of people have reached the end - which now includes us. This is a mirrored video, which is actually Episode 32 of the Nova Scotia MineHunters show. (MORE INFO BELOW)
Welcome Nova Scotians, Cavers, Hikers, Explorers, and Nature Lovers from around the world ! This video comes to you via a special request of the Nova Scotian cavers who pioneered the first journeys all the way to the end of this cave system. They reached out to our Abandoned Mines Nova Scotia channel to come shoot a high quality, well-lit explore of the entire journey to the end of the cave - and wanted us to present it in the same way we do our abandoned mines. We accepted their challenge, invitation, and their guidance, and took the plunge with them in September 2016.
We sat on the footage for the remainder of the 2016 season, assembling it into this episode, and waited to present it as our 2016 Season Finale... our most difficult & grueling explore shoot ever... bringing our second year of the MineHunters shows to an end, while we go through the hiatus period of winter 2016-2017.
**** The video is mirrored in order to be implicitly noticed by the majority of the general public who has zero interest in abandoned mines, or a channel dedicated to abandoned mines. This explore video would otherwise be lost in the shuffle, as even our standard naming/titling of our videos wouldn't catch the attention of the standard YouTube browser in Atlantic Canada. This mirrored post has a title (and Tags) that will specifically be for the general public at large ****
