Are there Great White's on Oregon Coast ? - YouTube
Simple answer is yes. With abundant seals great white sharks frequent this coastline.
25 Dec 2005 -- Seaside, Oregon — A man was attacked by a shark while surfing...
Shark Attack on Kenneth Doudt At Cannon Beach .....
(Seaside, Oregon) -- With hints of the movie Jaws, there is apparently a run of shark attacks on sea mammals on Oregon beaches, causing officials to say there seems to be a large predator working the north Oregon coast.
On September 27, 2010 David Lowden, was attacked by a Great White Shark, while surfing with Mark Lorincz, and Justin Martin at the South Jetty of the Umpqua River in Winchester Bay, Oregon.
It was 4:00 PM and they had been on the water about 45 minutes. It was sunny with a light fog coming and going and an estimated air temperature of 65 degrees Fahrenheit. They were 80 - 100 yards from shore, in water 15 - 20 feet deep with a sandy ocean floor and 4 - 5 feet of water visibility.
While on the beach a surfer suffered a medical condition and it was amazing to see how fast help arrived, but again Cannon Beach and Seaside are all close by, even Astoria with a Coast Guard station is just a short distance. Anyway the patient was stabilized and transported with care and efficiency.
RV Camping at Winchester Bay - Oregon Coast
In this video, I give you a look around Winchester Bay, Oregon, and its RV camping opportunities. All the camping is run by the Douglas County Parks Department.
We camped right in the Salmon Harbor Marina area on a large paved earthen jetty between the boat slips. It's dry camping for $17 a night $102 a week or $306 a month. You get a picnic table and metal BBQ. There is a $10 dump station on the property and washrooms and I think pay showers.
I also show you the hookup campsites in Windy Cove, loops A and B then head over to the Winchester Bay RV Resort. Winchester Bay RV Resort is a high-end RV park with full hookups, paved pads, and beautifully manicured landscaping.

Ep. 58: Crested Butte - Part I | Colorado RV travel camping
One of our favorite places in all of Colorado, we head to Crested Butte after first making some emergency repairs to our travel trailer's Fastway Equalizer e2 weight distribution hitch while camping atop Grand Mesa on Colorado's Western Slope. Crested Butte is a genuine restored Colorado mining town deep in the Rocky Mountains with all manner of outdoor recreation available. We find scenic and secluded boondocking high in Washington Gulch, explore the town, and kayak on the high alpine Lake Irwin in Part I of our visit to Crested Butte.
Filmed August 4-7, 2018.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Finding Oregon
Produced 2011 by Uncage the Soul Productions

To plan your adventure to Oregon, visit Travel Oregon at
Finding Oregon is the compilation of six months of timelapse photography across the state of Oregon, punctuated by a 1600 mile road trip in September. We've filmed the Columbia River Gorge, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Southwestern Coast, the Alvord Desert, Leslie Gulch, Blue Mountains, Crater Lake, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Deschutes River, and more. We're proud to have touched all four corners of the state; however Oregon is the kind of place that the more you see, the more places there are to still discover.
The greatest challenge with this project was being in the right place at the right time. Night timelapse sequences particularly have an unexpected number of requirements to get the bright, stunning payoff. First, the moon should be around the New Moon phase (no moon) so as not to compete with outshining the stars, so that means we get about 5 days a month window. Next, weather must be cooperative with a dependable expectancy of cloudless skies. Here in Oregon, only the Summer months have good chance of clear skies, so only 1/4 of the year offers good chance of clear skies. So that means, we have three months in the year, with a 5 day window each month to plan with fingers crossed for epic star shooting conditions. That's only 15 days in a year. Then, you hope that something doesn't come up in regular life to pull you away to other obligations on those few days. It is a maddening challenge getting all the factors to line up to be in the right place at the right time. But, when it does happen- it is such a satisfying feeling!
Behind the scenes video and photos will be posted at

Heceta Lighthouse Beach, Thor's Well and Florence, Oregon
Follow along as our fulltime RV traveling family adventures to Florence, Oregon. While most of our 10 days was spent on a much needed break catching up on life, we also hit Thor's Well and Heceta Lighthouse Beach. It turned in to one of our most favorite adventures yet when Taryn found a huge hidden cave at low tide! Add in some amazing tide pools, stacking rocks, tiny sand dollars and we had a fantastic time! Definitely one of our top 5 favorite days!

Floras Lake: Hiking through an Enchanted Forest
About 30 minutes drive south of Bandon, Oregon is a little known place called Floras Lake State Recreation Area. It is well known for kite surfing, but there are several hikes in the area that are definitely worth it too. We tried the Floras Lake Waterfall trail, and though we didn't get to finish it as we missed one of the trail signs and went the wrong way, we still got to hike through a magical forest. Definitely still worth it (even if we did miss the cliffs and waterfall) :-)
