Medellín, the capital of Antioquía in the Paisa region and Colombia's second largest city, is a modern and vibrant city and has renewed itself from the drug trade brand it had in the 1980's and early 1990's. Medellín is today a very popular city for both tourists and Colombians. The metro system is the easiest way to get around the city and there are plentyful of museums and sights to visit. One of them is Pueblito Paisa, located at the top of Cerro Nutibara with great views of Medellín both day and night.
Situated in a narrow valley, Medellín packs the punch of a city twice its size. Its skyline reaches for the heavens, setting high-rise apartments and office buildings against a backdrop of jagged peaks in every direction. Medellín's pleasant climate gives it its nickname City of Eternal Spring and the moderate temperatures put a spring in the local's steps, at work and at play. It's a bustling place of industry and commerce, especially in textile manufacturing and exported cut flowers. On weekends Medellín goes into leisure mode, with its many discos and restaurants attracting the beautiful people.

During my stay in Medellín I also visited the Escobar Gaviria family grave on 21 February 2018, the final resting place of El Patron Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria, as I managed to get in touch with someone who's family used to be invovled in the drug trade and also behind the scenes in the first season of the series Narcos. He showed me the roof top where Pablo Escobar was killed (or commited suicide depending on who you ask), some of the buildings built by El Patron, and we also entered Barrio Pablo Escobar, the only barrio built for the poor by El Patron that has his name.
All my footage in this video is from 20 - 21 February 2018.

The next morning, after searching the Internet for another hotel of the same budget ($ 11 USD), we requested the check out and went directly to the South American hotel; There we were assigned a room with a queen bed, private bathroom and balcony, much better than the one we had requested, this because of our Genius concordance on Booking.com.
In the afternoon we went to Restrepo Meta but we could not take shots due to the weather, it rained all afternoon. A little frustrated by the weather, in the evening we returned to Villavicencio to take some shots in the area on August 7 where the university students and young people meet to share and celebrate with Halloween night.
That night in the new hotel: Suramericano we were able to fully rest without having the surprise that the previous hotel gave us with its Headwalkers.
We wait in 15 days to return to Medellin Colombia city that we yearn more and more and return to the Lleras Park and its nightlife in Medellin, we know that our followers also want to know more about Medellin.

HANDICRAFTS FAIR TRADE IN LATIN AMERICA
Have you ever wondered if the people that make your clothes, accessories, handmade items and handicrafts receive a fair return for their dedicated work? We do, and we are not happy with the answer... yet.
Handicrafts are a sample of art, culture and love. Artisans help to keep traditions alive while bringing you closer to amazing cultures. The craftsmanship of hundreds of these artisans enriches our spaces and lives, while providing a great livelihood alternative and opportunities for growth for many deprived groups in developing countries.
We are a group of 10 social entrepreneurs from all over the world who have decided to get together and change the situation in which local communities produce and sell their products and handcrafts. We were pulled together into the Social Entrepreneurship Course of the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) by the common goal to combine the best of our experiences into a single business plan capable to reach latin american artisans beyond any national boundary.
Latin America’s rich cultural heritage is recognized world wide, but the conditions in which many artisans live and sell their products are often ignored worldwide. We have started in various countries with the common goal of working with rural communities, improving their living conditions and betting on fair trade as the only way to make this wheel spin for good. Human development, social innovation and collective knowledge put together entailing effective distribution channels and promoting high quality and original products, will be the catalyst for social change. Our mission: creating a platform to promote Latin America handicrafts’ sector development through different channels and standards such as Fair Trade, intellectual property protection, marketing, export access, trade fairs, deploying the collaboration potential between other regions and Latin American artisans, etc. By contributing to our fundraising campaign through a donation or simply by sharing with friends and family, or any social media outlet of your choice, you are contributing to a project that will produce a meaningful social impact while providing quality handmade artisan goods to a global market. The final project to be funded by CBS will be chosen from amongst a pool of initiatives developed or improved during the next three months of the course, including ours as described above.
Be the change you wish to see in the world… you can start now :)
A donation of any denomination is greatly appreciated, however, if you contribute $300USD, and our project is chosen amongst those to be funded by Copenhagen Business School, you can be part of a Social Tour in the communities with whom we work with, to learn with and from them, and support this movement. An opportunity to support a work process in a community of artisans in Latin America. (Travel expenses on behalf of participants).
