Rockbridge is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in eastern Good Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio, United States. Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 43149. It is located at the interchange of U.S. Route 33 and State Route 374, between Logan and Lancaster. As of the 2010 census the population of the CDP was 182.The area around Rockbridge contains many tourist destinations, including portions of the Hocking Hills State Park System and Clear Creek, part of the Columbus Metro Parks system. What a great day for an 8.5 mile hike in the woods! The weather was perfect and I only saw one person on the trail the whole time.
The entire Logan trail is over 17 miles long in it's figure 8 shape.

Exploring Abandoned Railroad Station And This Happened!

Exploring an historic abandoned train station. This is a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad depot along a short line railroad spur. The roof is falling in, the windows are broken out and the inside is vandalized. Indiana & Ohio Railway operates this branch line to Greenfield Ohio and the city of Greenfield owns the track. While I was exploring the train station a short local freight train came by on its way from Greenfield to Blanchester, Ohio. This station is in Leesburg Ohio. I also show the dilapidated train station in nearby Midland. The locomotive is seen stopping in Blanchester to end its work day. The train runs to Greenfield on Thursdays. Johnson Woods State Nature Preserve Wayne County Ohio

Johnson Woods State Nature Preserve is one of Ohio's largest and best remaining old-growth forests. Many trees rise 40-50 feet before the first limbs occur and several are more than 400 years old. Some are 120 feet tall with a diameter of 4 to 5 feet. The 155-acre tract on the south side of Fox Lake Road was a gift to the Ohio Division of Natural Areas and Preserves from Mrs. Clela Johnson and her family in memory of her late husband, Andrew C. Johnson. In addition to the gift, Mrs. Johnson sold 51 acres of adjacent old-growth woods on the north side of the road to the division.

VDOT: Goshen Bridge

In the 1890s, the tiny Rockbridge County community of Goshen was being transformed into the Iron Center of the South. At the heart of town an elaborate steel bridge was constructed to be a symbol of the wealth that awaited investors. Within three years the boom went bust. Over time, icons of Goshen's heyday disappeared—except for the steel bridge. But more than a century of use had left the structure a rusting relic. This 2004 video traces the unique history of the Goshen Bridge, its importance to the community, and VDOT's work to preserve and restore this important landmark.
