Scope & Content: Reel 1 shows panoramic views of the Gondrecourt camp. 26th Inf. troops do calisthenics. Troops dig trenches and spread barbed wire. The 2nd Field Signal Bn. transmits messages by radio and signal lamp. Shows activities on rifle, bayonet, hand grenade, and machine gun ranges. Machine guns are dismantled. 37-mm guns and trench mortars are loaded and fired. Reel 2, Gen. Pershing and aides view infantry maneuvers: machine guns are set up, skirmish lines formed, and trenches attacked after a hand grenade barrage. Pershing and Pres. Poincare inspect the Division passing in review. Gen. Petain decorates troops. Reel 3, carts are loaded with supplies at a Gondrecourt QM depot. Shows preparation and serving of food from a field kitchen. 16th Inf. troops and French women wash clothes in a river. 1st Div. troops visit the Y.M.C.A. club and get haircuts and shaves. Shows a cock fight, boxing matches, and a baseball game.
