Places to see in ( Elgin - UK )
Elgin is a former cathedral city and Royal Burgh in Moray, Scotland. Elgin is the administrative and commercial centre for Moray. The town originated to the south of the River Lossie on the higher ground above the floodplain. Elgin is first documented in the Cartulary of Moray in 1190 AD. It was created a Royal Burgh in the 12th century by King David I of Scotland and by that time had a castle on top of the present day Lady Hill to the west of the town.
The modern town straddles the River Lossie, with the suburbs of Bishopmill to the north and New Elgin to the south. Permo-Triassic rocks, rare in Scotland, are commonly found around Elgin. These are composed of aeolian sandstone formed when this area was subjected to desert conditions. Quarry Wood, on the town's edge, has a formation nicknamed Cuttie's Hillock which produced the internationally known fossils called the Elgin Reptiles. In the Elgin district, boulders belonging to the lowest group of Jurassic strata, Oxford clay and chalk are found both in glacial deposits and on the surface of the ground. The largest of these deposits is at Linksfield, where limestone and shale lie on boulder clay. There is a large hill in downtown Elgin, often viewed as the highlight of the Elgin tourist trail.
Elgin is situated on the A96 trunk route which connects the cities of Aberdeen and Inverness. Heavy traffic through the town causes serious congestion. Scottish transport minister Tavish Scott visited the town in August 2006 to look at the traffic management problems and to meet campaigners for a bypass. It is estimated that a bypass would remove about one third of traffic from Elgin's streets. The A941 runs from Lossiemouth through Elgin to Rothes, Craigellachie, Dufftown and Rhynie. Elgin railway station is operated by Abellio ScotRail. The railway also connects to Aberdeen and Inverness which have trains to other UK destinations. Elgin's bus station is operated mainly by Stagecoach, and provides services within Elgin and to other local towns as well as to Aberdeen and Inverness. There is a 'Jet' bus service which runs to the Inverness Airport at Dalcross, Inverness has flights to mainly UK destinations while Aberdeen airport has UK and international flights.

Traveling through Edinburgh, Scotland
This is the first vlog of my adventures through Europe. This one starts in NYC but is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a very cool city in Scotland famous for its castle and good viewpoints. I am here because it is the cheapest place to fly into Europe to travel around. This city has a very down to earth atmosphere, but it is quite rainy. So, if you don't like rain, do not plan such a long trip here. I stayed in Kick Ass Hostels which is only about $13 a night if you are trying to travel on the cheap. At that price, I could stay here a whole month and never leave (because wifi, bar, food, and cafe inside) for the cost of living in my house in Texas. With this trip, I plan on heading through Europe to see some old friends and new places. I will be going to Amsterdam, Brussels, Stuttgart, Catania, and Oslo for sure on this trip. I am in no hurry, so they may not be all in a row. My reason for coming on this trip, was 1. to get a little adventure and get out the house to go where all the people and money is... outside or traveling. And 2. to find a cheap place (perhaps Budapest) to settle down for a bit and work on a digital advertising business called Hearten Marketing where I intend to help small business owners grow their businesses to hit there goals and gain more freedom to live life. So please subscribe if you want to follow my travels! And thanks for watching. Costs and gear below.
Costs of travels so far:
Plane ticket from Dallas to Queens: $78
Bus between: $20
Plane ticket from New York to Edinburgh: $99
Two nights at a hostel: $25
Train to Clitheroe from Edinburgh: $22
Miscellaneous food costs: unknown (imagine what you'd spend in America)
Gear:
Big camera: Nikon J1
Small camera: iPhone 6s
Kilkenny Ireland
Kilkenny Ireland (2003).
Kilkenny (Irish: Cill Chainnigh, meaning church of Cainnech) is a city located in south-east part of Ireland and the county town of County Kilkenny. It is on both banks of the River Nore in the province of Leinster. The city is administered by a Borough Council and a Mayor which is a level below that of city council in the Local government of the state although the Local Government Act 2001 allows for the continued use of the description city. The borough has a population of 8,711, however the majority of the population live outside the borough boundary, the 2011 Irish Census gives the total population of the Borough & Environs as 24,423.
Kilkenny is a popular tourist destination. In 2009 the City of Kilkenny celebrated its 400th year since the granting of city status in 1609. Kilkenny's heritage is evident in the city and environs including the historic buildings such as Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice's Cathedral and round tower, Rothe House, Shee Alms House, Black Abbey, St. Mary's Cathedral, Kilkenny Town Hall, St. Francis Abbey, Grace's Castle, and St. John's Priory. Kilkenny is regarded for its culture with craft and design workshops, the Watergate Theatre, public gardens and museums. Annual events include Kilkenny Art Festival, the Cat Laughs comedy festival and music at the Rhythm and Roots festival and the Source concert. It is a popular base to explore the surrounding towns, villages and countryside. Controversy exists at the moment around the Kilkenny Central Access Scheme which is a road proposed to be built through the city centre.
Kilkenny began with an early sixth century ecclesiastical foundation within the kingdom of Ossory. Following Norman invasion of Ireland, Kilkenny Castle and a series of walls were built to protect the burghers of what became a Norman merchant town. William Marshall, Lord of Leinster, gave Kilkenny a charter as a town in 1207. By the late thirteenth century Kilkenny was under Norman-Irish control. The Statutes of Kilkenny passed at Kilkenny in 1367, aimed to curb the decline of the Hiberno-Norman Lordship of Ireland. In 1609 King James I of England granted Kilkenny a Royal Charter giving it the status of a city. Following the Rebellion of 1641, the Irish Catholic Confederation, also known as the Confederation of Kilkenny, was based in Kilkenny and lasted until the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland in 1649. Kilkenny was a famous brewing centre from the late seventeenth century. In the late twentieth century Kilkenny is a tourist and creative centre.
The Heritage Council offices are located at Church Lane. The seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Ossory is at St. Mary's Cathedral and the Church of Ireland Bishop of Cashel and Ossory is at St. Canice's Cathedral. Nearby larger cities include Waterford 45 kilometres (28 mi) south-southeast, Limerick 93 kilometres (58 mi) west and Dublin 101 kilometres (63 mi) northeast.

OOTD & Postcard from Valencia | CharliMarieTV
I didn't send any postcards on my trip, so here's a video postcard (including an OOTD) for you all! Subscribe to my channel :) Open here for more info:
Here's my video postcard from El Miguelete, the bell tower of the Valencia cathedral. It's obviously one of Valencia's (admittedly few) tourist attractions and is a great thing to do when you visit Valencia as it only costs 2€. The cathedral is one of my favourite buildings in Valencia because as you can see it's absolutely gorgeous and the views are amazing.
I also threw in a little OOTD (outfit of the day) because why not? What I'm wearing is listed in the video, as well as below :)

Aachen City Views
Aachen City Views
Some photographic impressions of Aachen, Germany.
Take a stroll in the old city if Aachen and visit the famous cathedral of Carl the Great. At the end of the day, have a break in a nice Aachen cafe. Aachen is a favorite tourist destination for tourists from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France. Aachen is also famous for its annual Christmas Market, which makes it a popular travel destination.
The Christmas market in Aachen just opened for 2012.
If you have the time, I would recommend to visit it during the week, since on the weekend it is usually very very busy. If you look for a nice cafe for a break, I recommend Cafe zum Mohren, which is located in a square called Hof. When you visit the Dome, there is also a treasure chamber which is really nice. In close neighbourbood to the Dome I can also recommend the restaurant Goldene Rose, which is very pretty from inside. It is located very closely to the entrance of the Dome.
When you visit Aachen by train, instead of going to the main station, you can also get out at the station called Schanz and then go down the Jakobsstrasse, that is much closer and convenient, particularly if you arrive with the Euregiobahn, e.g. from Maastricht, or from Düsseldorf.
Fuer Deutsche Besucher:
-------------------------------------
