Places to see in ( Rouen - France )
Rouen, capital of the northern French region of Normandy, is a port city on the river Seine. Important in the Roman era and Middle Ages, it has Gothic churches, such as Saint-Maclou and Saint-Ouen, and a cobblestoned pedestrian center with medieval half-timbered houses. The skyline is dominated by the spires of Cathédrale Notre-Dame, much-painted by Impressionist Claude Monet.
Rouen is the capital of the French region of Upper Normandy and situated on the River Seine, approximately 90 minutes drive northwest (135 km) from the centre of Paris. The city has a population of 110,000 and its metropolitan area includes some 520,000 inhabitants. It is where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, but the main reason for visiting is its incredible cathedral that inspired Monet to paint over 30 canvases. Rouen was the home of the author, Gustave Flaubert.
With its soaring Gothic cathedral, beautifully restored medieval quarter, excellent museums and vibrant cultural life, Rouen is one of Normandy’s most engaging destinations. The city has had a turbulent history. It was devastated by fire and plague several times during the Middle Ages, and was occupied by the English during the Hundred Years War. The young French heroine Joan of Arc (Jeanne d’Arc) was tried for heresy and burned at the stake in the central square in 1431. And during WWII, Allied bombing raids laid waste to large parts of the city, especially south of the cathedral.
Rouen was for a long time France's second city, after Paris, which explains the richness of the town's artistic heritage. Today, it deserves a visit for its monuments, Gothic art being particularly well represented, but also for the charm of its alleyways and the many half-timbered houses there are. The town is situated on the right bank of the River Seine, but today, includes the left bank (the Saint-Sever area in particular, on the south of the river), and the Île Lacroix.

20 Things to do in Kraków, Poland Travel Guide video transcript:
We kicked off this trip to Poland with a visit to Krakow, a city people have been telling us to visit for years and now we know why. Krakow in the summertime was wonderful! We spent our time enjoying castle views from the river side, exploring neighbourhoods covered in street art, eating some of the best pierogie of our lives, and also discovering what we think may be the best ice cream. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Krakow!
Wawel Castle is Krakow's crowning jewel, and for centuries it was the residence of the kings of Poland. You can see a mix of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture all in one place.
While in the city, we also had to walk the Royal Route, which was once the historic coronation path of Polish kings.
After visiting the basilica, we spent a bit of time walking the Main Square, which just so happens to be Europe's largest medieval town square.
And that’s it for our visit to Krakow! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around the city. If you have any other places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers visiting Krakow feel free to share those.
This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture, Polish cuisine while visiting Kraków Polska.

Places to see in ( Rouen - France ) Rue Eau de Robec
Places to see in ( Rouen - France ) Rue Eau de Robec
The street Eau de Robec is one of the main tourist streets of Rouen . It leads from boulevard Gambetta to rue des Boucheries-Saint-Ouen, passing through Place Saint-Vivien. This street, today pedestrian on the part between the rue des Boucheries-Saint-Ouen and the place Saint-Vivien, follows the historic course of Robec . It was formerly occupied in large numbers by dyers. Charles de Bourgueville would have said of the rue Eau-de-Robec that no time there is a red, green, blue, violated frieze, and other colors, according to the fact that a great number of dyers on it diversify it at intervals, doing their maneuvers .
Gustave Flaubert writes in Madame Bovary : The river, which makes this district like an ignoble little Venice, ran down below it, yellow, violet or blue, between its bridges and its railings. Workers, squatting on the edge, washed their arms on the water. On poles from the top of the granaries, skeins of cotton, were drying in the air.
The street was partially destroyed by bombing on September 5, 1942, March 12, 1943 and April 19, 1944. Channeled and buried between 1938 and 1941, Robec is today symbolized by a closed watercourse on the section between rue des Boucheries-Saint-Ouen and Place Saint-Vivien. Rue Eau-de-Robec was rehabilitated in the 1970s.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged the life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer.
I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)
