NORMANDY FOOD: The Great Eats Of Normandy France Tourism

Teatime at Angelina, Paris. Fashion, style, scrumptious desserts, and hot choclate.
Paris is cold in winter. In fact, from mid October to the beginning of May, it's considered winter. Angelina with its belle époque design is one of the best tearooms on a cold winter day in Paris. You'll see long lines of beautiful stylish people waiting for tables...all worthwhile because this plush establishment offers a very cozy atmosphere. Having a cup of coffee and a patisserie is the perfect remedy on a cold day. Angelina is also the most-coveted spot for hot chocolate in Paris (they sometimes have the take out version) at 2:03. Their chocolat chaud is rich, thick, an intense chocolate sip of heaven. I love their signature Mont Blanc at 2:00 (the lady's expression at 2:03 while tasting it..priceless), a ball of meringue encased in chestnut cream vermicelli. The Saint Honore at 5:17 is also to die for. A circle of puff pastry at its base with a ring of caramel coated pâte à choux and whipped Bourbon vanilla cream. The Eclair Chocolat at 3:55, with its bitter dark chocolate cream filling and chocolate icing is perfect for those who don't like too sweet. Coco Chanel was regularly seated at table 10. She was one of the regulars who loved the hot chocolate. The table is next to one of the mirrors and her biographers have written how Coco Chanel loved this place because she could keep an eye on the people around her thanks to the mirrors. Servers’ Parisian Chic uniforms 1:12, 2:48 were created by designer Alexis Mabille, who has worked for Dior, John Galliano and YSL. Enjoy your weekend!

Tour of the Famous Saint-Émilion, France
Tour of the famous St-Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage site and centre of the best-known Bordeaux appellations. Then on to Château Beau-Sejour-Becot, producer of premier and grand crus wines, for a tour and tasting.
Bordeaux, with 247,000 acres, is a wine-producing area three times the size of Burgundy. Bordeaux is the largest fine wine-making region in the world, as well as the most legendary. More than half the fine wines of the world come from France and about half of these are from Bordeaux.
Although the reputation is built mostly on red wines, especially those from the Médoc, St-Èmilion and Pomerol districts, the region produces the entire gamut of wines, including dry and sweet whites, and rosés.
What is hotel barging?
Despite the growing popularity of cruising, especially on large river vessels, hotel barging is still a little known niche concept. Most hotel barges started life as cargo vessels but have since been painstakingly converted to offer luxury boutique accommodation for small groups of up to 20 passengers.
This is cruising, but in a very different style to ships plying the big rivers or oceans. The pace is slow, with a 6 day cruise covering maybe just 50 miles along a rural canal. Passengers can walk or bike the towpaths as their floating hotel glides gently along. Guests enjoy an intimate atmosphere, high levels of personal service and immersion into the culture, history and gastronomy of regions of Europe such as Burgundy, the Midi, or the Italian Veneto.
Every day there is an excursion, perhaps to a chateau, a vineyard for a wine tasting, or some other ‘off the beaten track’ location. About half of European Waterways’ bookings are for whole boat charters, ideal for families. Otherwise, clients book a cabin to join other like-minded people. A ‘slow boat’ European Waterways barge cruise offers the ultimate in experiential travel. A truly unique experience!
European Waterways offer luxury hotel barge cruises on the beautiful canals and rivers of Europe, such as through Burgundy, the Midi, Alsace, the Po Valley, Holland and the Scottish Highlands.
The exclusive collection of hotel barges accommodate up to 20 passengers who may charter a whole barge with family or friends, or join a small group of like-minded travellers on an individual cabin basis.
Each barge is fully crewed with a Captain, chef, hostesses, deck-hand and tour guide. The 6-night cruises include gourmet meals, fine wines, open bar, excursions and the use of facilities such as bicycles and spa pools.
Paris George V Hotel - 3 Star Michelin Le Cinq - People Watching - Sight Seeing
My trip to Paris in April was really something. Rain or shine, the city was beautiful - but really though, I'm glad to be home.
That said, while there the most fun I had was the long walk along the Seine soaking in the scenery while following some random Sunday marathon.
Also, spectacular whole wheat baguettes happened at Paris best Four Seasons George V Hotel - they're called brun baguettes (as in brown baguettes).
The best creme brulee by far was found in Saint Michel (oops sorry, typo)
Le Marais has Place de Vosges - where a great restaurant whose dessert I loved only accepted cash - plus fun long walks along fashionable stores & pop-up ones.
And oh, elegant Parisians made for perfect people-watching from my room that one incessantly rainy morning.
Enjoy!!
A Parisian Chic afternoon at Pierre Hermé, Champs-Elysées. Divinely delicious & stunning desserts.
The talented pâtissier Pierre Hermé has been named by Vogue USA as the “Picasso of Pastry”. When you see his work you will have to agree, his cakes and pastries creations are almost too beautiful to eat! Pierre Hermé has made the macaron one of the most coveted, sought-after desserts fall over the world. Pierre Hermé's newest venture, 86 Champs, is a mod cafe on the Champs-Elysées. It features an expansive macaron counter at the entrance, where you can choose from dozens of varieties and also a superb marble dessert bar area with blue and pink velvet seats. A haven of well being and indulgence in the middle of the world’s most beautiful avenue. Desserts are a French culinary tradition. The word “dessert” is actually derived from the French word “desservir” which means “to clear the table”. Close to sixty percent of French consider a good meal incomplete without a pastry dessert. My favorite place to indulge in edible works of art? Pierre Hermé at72 Rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris. Enjoy!
