The Chapel of Saint Michel d’Aiguilhe
Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe chapel in Aiguilhe, near Le Puy-en-Velay, France, is the 4th best monument in the country, according to the French. The chapel’s amazing location attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe is translated as St.Michael on a needle. Rock formation resembling a needle, gave the name to the chapel. As other high peak places throughout the world, this one is considered to be mysterious and sacred. Because of this, there are some speculations, that the place was a place of worship long before the Christian chapel was built. The chapel dedicated to the Archangel Michael, was built on an extinct volcano in 969 AD. It rises at 279 feet high and offers breathtaking panoramic view. 268 steps lead to the chapel, but they are not as difficult to climb as it seems. The steps are wide and there are benches to rest along the way. The view from the top is spectacular. The chapel’s masonry work is impressive, as well as beautiful fresco murals and stained glass. Inside the chapel is peaceful and calming atmosphere, that can be used to meditate, pray or reflect on life.

Places to see in ( Clermont Ferrand - France )
Clermont-Ferrand is a university city in central France, bordered by the volcanic Chaîne des Puys mountains. Near the fountains and statues of Place de Jaude square are the Gothic Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral, constructed from lava stone, and the Romanesque Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port, with mosaics. Northwest of the city is the volcano-themed Vulcania amusement park and museum with interactive shows.
Clermont-Ferrand is famous for the chain of extinct volcanoes that ring the city, including the highest, Puy-de-Dôme, some 13 km away from the city centre. One of the oldest cities of France, its first mention was by the Greek geographer Strabo, who called it Nemessos, a Gaulish word for a sacred forest. The settlement witnessed the famous Battle of Gergovia, in which the Gauls led by Vercingetorix triumphed temporarily over the Romans led ultimately by Julius Caesar. After the Roman conquest, the city was renamed Augustonemetum, a name which combined its original Gallic name with that of the Emperor Augustus. Its population was estimated at 15,000–30,000 inhabitants in the 2nd century CE, making it one of the largest cities of Roman Gaul.
Clermont has recently opened a intra-urban tramway providing access to a number of key points in the city. This tram, known as Line A, starts at Champratel and travels southwards through the city center and the University campus before ending at the Pardieu trains station. Trams are frequent. Clermont-Ferrand also has an extensive bus network connecting the downtown to the outlying suburbs. The stations and stops are frequent and the map is not confusing. The buses are limited on Saturdays and Sundays.

Conques - One of The Most Beautiful Villages in France
Conques is on the list of Les Plus Beaux Villages (the most beautiful villages) in France and you'll get no argument from us. Not from 7 years ago when our Way of St. James ended in Conques nor now, as we began walking again.
Its original medieval layout still surrounds the Abbey for over 12 centuries in a wide semicircle with steep, narrow streets. old, Timber-frame and stone houses line the length of Rue Charlemagne, the street travelled by the pilgrims on their way to the abbey.
Little villages like Conques just have to be visited to be believed...
