San Patricio is a very small community in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of New Mexico. It is located on the Rio Ruidoso and U.S. Highway 70, between the communities of Hondo and Glencoe. It is just east of the Lincoln National Forest. The community is home to a Benedictine spirituality center recently purchased by the Diocese of Las Cruces], San Patricio Retreat Center. It is also home to the Hurd-LaRinconada Gallery, owned by artist Michael Hurd. The gallery displays original works of art by the Wyeth and Hurd families and there are guest houses on the ranch.

    White Sands National Monument is a United States national monument located in the state of New Mexico on the north side of Route 70 about 16 miles southwest of Alamogordo in western Otero County and northeastern Doña Ana County. The monument is situated at an elevation of 4,235 feet in the mountain-ringed Tularosa Basin and comprises the southern part of a 275 sq mi field of white sand dunes composed of gypsum crystals. The gypsum dune field is the largest of its kind on Earth.
