Places to see in ( Murcia - Spain ) San Pedro del Pinatar
San Pedro del Pinatar is a small town and municipality in the autonomous community and province of Murcia, southeastern Spain. The municipality is situated at the northern end of Murcia's Mediterranean coastline, the Costa Cálida, and borders with the province of Alicante. It has an area of almost 22 km², and a population (2008) of 23,738.
San Pedro del Pinatar (Saint Peter of the Pinewoods) is about 49 km from the provincial capital, Murcia. The municipality is situated between the Mediterranean Sea coast and the Mar Menor (Little Sea), a coastal saltwater lagoon which is the largest in Europe. The Mar Menor coast belongs to other three municipalities: San Javier, Los Alcázares and Cartagena. The latter is not by the Mar Menor itself, but in the Mediterranean. San Pedro del Pinatar occupies a small peninsula with 14 km of coastline between the two seas. The terrain is a mostly low-lying littoral depression, with an average elevation of only 13 m above mean sea level.
San Pedro del Pinatar continues to be a very popular Spanish holiday destination and the population increases during the summer months as people from Madrid (and other Spaniards) with second homes descend on the area. Lots of free entertainment is provided by the council.

Murcia, San-Pedro. Promenade in December
San Pedro del Pinatar situated in the province of Murcia. It is just about 23 km from Torrevieja.
San Pedro is known for its curative mud and a classy restaurant, where the King of Spain loved to dine.
In this video you can see this restaurant (3:32), unfortunately we were not allowed to shoot video inside the restaurant but we will show you a cozy courtyard, which is offered for guests who want to taste the local cuisine in the open air.
San Pedro is located very close to Torrevieja, but the architecture of these two cities differ greatly. Torrevieja is more populous and dynamic, and there are only 23-24 thousands people in San Pedro. And many of them only come there in the summer months. San Pedro is very clean, cozy and friendly town. We were happy that we came here today, we got a great promenade!

The best places of Los Alcazares
Los Alcázares is a small, but expanding coastal spa town and former fishing village on the western side of the Mar Menor in the autonomous community and province of Murcia, southeastern Spain.
The Mar Menor (little sea) belongs to three other municipalities: San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Cartagena and is Europe's largest saltwater lagoon. Connected to the adjacent Mediterranean sea by several channels, the Mar Menor has a surface area of almost 20 km² and the fact that it is typically 2-4 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean, makes it a very popular destination for sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and other water sports enthusiasts. Los Alcazares beaches holds blue flag awards in recognition of the cleanliness and maintenance of the beaches along the Mar Menor. The award is given annually by the Institute for Spanish Tourism.

There are some absolutely fantastic beaches in and around the town of San Pedro del Pinatar.
