Santiago de Cuba is the second largest city of Cuba and capital city of Santiago de Cuba Province in the south-eastern area of the island, some 540 miles (870 km) south-east of the Cuban capital of Havana.

The municipality extends over 1,023.8 square kilometers (395.3 sq mi), and contains the communities of Antonio Maceo, Bravo, Castillo Duany, Daiquirí, El Caney, El Cobre, El Cristo, Guilera, Leyte Vidal, Moncada and Siboney.

Historically Santiago de Cuba has long been the second most important city on the island after Havana, and still remains the second largest. It is on a bay connected to the Caribbean Sea and is an important sea port. In 2004 the city of Santiago de Cuba had a population of about 494,337 people.

A place not to be missed for live in the city of Santiago de Cuba: La Casa de Trova. While tourists get inside fairly easily, many of the locals dance and listen in the streets below. Located near the plaza at the center of town just down the street from the Cathedral, across from the hotel.

Las leyendas de su origen MENCONAN EL impacto de un meteorito que cayó hace millones de años en el mencionado territorio oriental, aunque la más verídica es aquella que considera su nacimiento debido a la explosión de un volcán submarino.

La roca es también apreciada como un mirador natural de condiciones únicas, pues ofrece a la vista que quienes se aventuran a escalarla los atractivos de uno de los paisajes de mayor belleza en el territorio.

Esta registrada en el libro Ghinnes por ser la roca de su tamaño a mayor altura en el mundo, y la tercer por su tamañoa nivel mundial.

Cuba 2019 - Day Six - Camaguey - 3/21/2019

On the sixth day of our trip to Cuba we stayed in Camaguey at the Santa Maria hotel, a quaint and centrally located hotel to important landmarks of the city. In the morning we walked to a nearby plaza where we visited a colonial church, the proceeded to the Theatro Principal to watch a famous ballet troupe do their warm up exercises. The afternoon was spent at the King Ranch in the province (covered in another video). The evening found us at a local Paladar restaurant for another enjoyable meal.

A place called Paradise in Cuba

Stunning drone footage of the Finca Organica El Paraiso in Vinales Cuba. This farm, with its restaurant, is consistently one of our most highly rated destinations in Cuba by our Cuba tour participants.

It is a fully organic farm with fantastic views of the Vinales valley, especially at sunset. The food produced on the farm is used in the on-site restaurant which, while not a vegetarian restaurant, does serve plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and something out of the ordinary for Cuba. Many of the Cuban Adventures Cuba Tours include a visit to this farm, and nearly all of the tours that don't include it, end up going there anyway as an optional excursion.
