Satakunta is a region of Finland, part of the former Western Finland Province. It borders the regions of Southwest Finland , Pirkanmaa, South Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. The capital city of the region is Pori. The name of the region literally means Hundred. The historical province of the same name was a larger area within Finland, covering modern Satakunta as well as much of Pirkanmaa.

  • 1. Central Pori Church (Keski-Porin kirkko) Pori
    The Central Pori Church is a church in Gothic Revival style in the centre of the city of Pori, Western Finland. It is the largest church in region of Satakunta, and one of the largest in Finland. The church is also the main church of Pori. The church was built in between 1859 and 1863, when it was inaugurated. It is known for its unique church tower, which is made of cast iron. The tower is 72 metres tall. The church was designed by C. T. von Chiewitz and C.J. von Heideken. Glass paintings in the church are made by Magnus Enckell. Today the Central Pori Church is famous of its pipe organ, built by Paschen Kiel Orgelbau in 2007. The church is also the main concert venue of the annual Pori Organ festival.

  • 2. Koylio Church Koylio
    Köyliönjärvi is a lake in the municipality of Köyliö, Finland. Lake Köyliö is the home of the first documented historical event in Finland as Saint Henry was allegedly murdered on the ice of the lake in 1156. The lake and its surroundings are classified as one of the National landscapes of Finland. The area has been inhabited continuously since the Iron Age.
