Savona is a small community located at the west end of Kamloops Lake, where the Thompson River exits it. It is approximately halfway between Kamloops and Cache Creek along the Trans-Canada Highway. The countryside surrounding the community is semi-arid grasslands and hills, which support cattle ranching and agriculture. Savona has about 2000 hours of sunshine and less than 12 inches of precipitation a year. It has a population of approximately 650. It was a stagecoach stop, the location of a ferry across the Thompson River, and later moved to take advantage of the Canadian Pacific Railway built on the south side of the river.

Established in 1995, Steelhead Provincial Park is located on land that holds significant archeological value. The site had been used by the Secwepemc people for 7,000 to 10,000 year and in more recent history, was the site of pioneer homestead, ferry landing, stagecoach depot. A few historical buildings and a cemetery can still be found within the park boundaries.

Sun Peaks Resort is an alpine ski resort located in Sun Peaks, British Columbia, Canada, 56 km northeast of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. The summit of the ski area is at an elevation of 2,080 m , with an 881 m vertical rise from the base of the peak. Sun Peaks Resort has 16 square kilometres of skiable terrain , and receives an average of 5.6 m of snow per year. The resort has 12 lifts with a total capacity of 12,000 riders per hour with the Burfield chair being the longest at 23 minutes total ride. There are 135 runs, including 16 gladed areas and 40 km of cross country trails. Sun Peaks area averages over 2000 hours of sun a year. Lillooet , formerly Cayoosh Flat, is a community on the Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada, about 240 kilometres up the British Columbia Railway line from Vancouver. Situated at an intersection of deep gorges in the lee of the Coast Mountains, it has a dry climate with an average of 329.5 millimetres of precipitation being recorded annually. Lillooet has a long growing season, and once had prolific market gardens and orchard produce. It often vies with Lytton and Osoyoos for the title of Canada's Hot Spot on a daily basis in summer.
