A Quick Trip to Lindsay, Ontario | Exploring Kawartha Lakes
In the Kawartha Lakes region of Southeastern Ontario is where you'll find the beautiful small town of Lindsay.

This town is just 45 minutes away from Peterborough and it's a great place to visit if you're looking to explore a typical historic Ontario town.
There really isn't that much to do in Lindsay, especially for tourists.
Apart from exploring the beautiful old town area and admiring all of the architecture there's also an old burnt down mill at the edge of town. This is the most popular landmark in the town and a fun place to check out.
Just like with many other small towns in this area, people from Lindsay claim that it's one of the most beautiful towns in Ontario.
If you're planning a visit to Lindsay I recommend parking on the main street and simply walking around to see what you can find on your own.
During the summer the town can get quite busy with all of the local cottage-goers. During the winter it’s a lot quieter and can look beautiful in the snow.

Big Chute Marine Railway, Trent Severn, Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada
A nice place to visit with family when you're up north in cottage country. There is a marine restaurant (with a nice outdoor patio) close by with awesome nachos. A few steps away is an ice-cream shop. Loads of free parking.
Built in 1977, its a 'one of a kind' unique engineering design, carrying boats over the land barrier at Big Chute. It replaces the original marine railway which was built in 1917 and is still there, but now out of service.

Things you might see in Lauderdale Point Ontario and the Port Severn Waterway. Lauderdale is located 160 km north of Toronto, off Hwy 11, on Sparrow Lake. Lauderdale Point Resort is a quiet resort with all the boating amenities and a private campground.
The Indians called this place Sparrow Lake, Lake of Big Fire for its incredible sunsets. In the fall the Northern Lights are often seen in the north sky from Lauderdale Point.
Sparrow Lake is noted for its great fishing bass, pike, muskie, pickerel and pan fish for the kids.

Rice Lake - Fishing Spots Ontario
Drone footage of Rice Lake at Harwood boat station, early spring.
One of the best place for shore fishing in the GTA.
Rice Lake is a lake located in south-eastern Ontario, in Northumberland County and Peterborough County. The lake is located south of the City of Peterborough and the Kawartha lakes (Ontario) and north of Cobourg and is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway, which flows into the lake by the Otonabee and out via the Trent. It is 32 km long and 5 km wide. Natives called it Pemadashdakota or lake of the burning plains.
