Penglai, formerly known as Dengzhou or Tengchow, is a county-level city belonging to the prefecture-level city of Yantai, Shandong Province, in the People's Republic of China. It lies on the northwest corner of the Shandong Peninsula on the southern coast of the Gulf of Bohai. The city is famous for its mirages out at sea, which are frequent during May and June.

The Harbin Institute of Technology is a research university in China and a member of China's elite C9 League. HIT is a Chinese Ministry of Education Class A Double First Class University. Our 2nd food stop in China is Jinan (济南). Jinan is the capital of Shandong province in Eastern China, and it is often called the Spring City for its famous 72 artesian springs. Shandong cuisine (山东菜), or Lu cuisine (鲁菜), is one of the Eight Culinary Traditions of Chinese cuisine and one of the Four Great Traditions (四大菜系). The cooking methods of Lu cuisine focuses on quick frying, roasting and boiling. Jinan-style food is generally sweet, aromatic, fresh and tender.
