Stratosphere Sky Jump....Kinda
I promised my husband last year that if I won Mrs. United States 2011, I would do the Stratosphere Sky Jump. Well, I won, but we never made it to the Stratosphere. So this year, when I returned to pass on the title, my husband held me to my promise.
You will soon realize, I was less than thrilled and extremely terrified and this video is nothing if not comical. In the end, I did get off the side of the building, but I didn't exactly jump.
I have an extreme fear of heights and have always had a problem just jumping off of things. I even hate jumping off a diving board, so this was something completely out of my comfort zone. For anyone thinking of doing the Sky Jump, it really is fun, not bad at all and I have no regrets doing it. But with that said, I still don't think I could let go on my own. Special shout out to the staff at the Sky Jump. They were amazing and very patient with me. My husband said people outside were taking bets on whether I'd jump.
Travel Photography in Drumheller, Alberta
Check out all the photos from this trip over at my photography blog
This week I had the chance to get out of the house a bit and explore a part of Alberta, Canada that I haven't had the chance to shoot travel photography in before and that's the town of Drumheller. Now, the town of Drumheller itself isn't much to write home about. However, the surrounding areas are fantastic for travel photography and there is a nice variety of things to see and photograph.
Just outside of Drumheller, Canada you have all these amazing scenes to shoot. You have places like Horsethief Canyon, the Hoodoos, and of course those amazing Canadian Prairies. You also have the famous Tyrrell museum which is full of dinosaur bones and artifacts.
This trip lasted three days and we shot as many keeper images as we would somewhere in much more popular in Alberta. The cool thing about shooting photography in Drumheller is the variety. And it was that variety that made this trip such an awesome success.
This trip was also sponsored in part by Enterprise Rent-a-Car so a massive shout out to them for making that happen, and helping me pursue my passion.
