Shingletown is a census-designated place in Shasta County, California, United States. The population was 2,283 at the 2010 census, up from 2,222 at the 2000 census. Shingletown is a small town located along California State Route 44 in the hills just below Mount Lassen. Shingletown has a history of logging large timber, including pine, fir and cedar. It is also known as The Gateway to Lassen.

Lassen Peak, commonly referred to as Mount Lassen, is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range of the Western United States. Located in the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California, it is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, which stretches from southwestern British Columbia to northern California. Lassen Peak reaches an elevation of 10,457 feet , standing above the northern Sacramento Valley. It supports many flora and fauna among its diverse habitats, which are subject to frequent snowfall and reach high elevations. A lava dome, Lassen Peak has a volume of 0.6 cubic miles making it the largest lava dome on Earth. Crazy cliff jumping party in Northern California

Some of the best cliff jumpers in the U.S. descended on NorCal's most picturesque waterfalls to get hella sendy and throw a party or two in the process.

Bolam Creek Falls- Northern California Waterfalls- Mt Shasta Wilderness- backpacking -2018

Mount Shasta Wilderness backpacking- Sep 2018. I had an awesome overnight trip into the Mt Shasta Wilderness to visit Bolam Creek Falls on the north side of Shasta. There are three amazing waterfalls on Bolam Creek, fed by melting Bolam Glacier. I camped beside the upper waterfall with a view of Mt Shasta and Shastina and the waterfall in one shot. The trail starts at the North Gate trailhead on the established trail, but much of the journey is cross country in the Shasta Wilderness with no trail to follow.

FYI, I do not take Squawk with me on backpacking trips. He wants me to carry him up all the hills. Sasquatches are very heavy!
