The Dickeyville Grotto is a series of grottos and shrines in Dickeyville, Grant County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 151 and Highway 35. Most of the site's concrete structures are covered in shells, stones, tiles, wood, glass, gems and geodes donated by area parishioners. The site is visited by 40,000 to 60,000 visitors per year.

Blue Mounds State Park is a state park of Minnesota, USA, in Rock County near the town of Luverne. It protects an American bison herd which grazes on one of the state's largest prairie remnants. The state park is named after a linear escarpment of Precambrian Sioux Quartzite bedrock, which although pink in color, is said to have appeared blueish in the distance to early settlers. Parts of the cliff are up to 100 feet high. Unusual in the surrounding prairie landscape, they are a popular site for rock climbing. The park also preserves a 1,250-foot-long line of rocks aligned by Plains Indians which marks where the sun rises and sets on the spring and fall equinoxes. Hawkeye Point is the highest natural point in Iowa at 1,670 feet . It is approximately 4.5 miles north of Sibley on the eastern side of SR 60 and approximately 3.5 miles south of the Iowa-Minnesota state border. The high ground lies 100 feet due south of an old silo. The land that includes the highpoint was donated by the Sterler family, who worked this land for many decades, to Osceola County with the stipulation that the land be turned into a park. Osceola County, through its Economic Development Commission and Hawkeye Point Committee, has removed a few structures that were deemed to be hazardous to public safety including the old hog feed bunker at the highpoint site and a few small barns. Where To Find The Best Steam Trains In America!

I finally found a use for my old Road Atlas. Some of the maps are accurate in the locations where my favorite big steam trains can be found in the United States. Hopefully this video helps some people out there, who might want to visit these locations.

As far as the future of steam operation goes, the new generations are the ones who will decide whether or not steam preservation is important in the long term.

On Sunday June 1st 2008 former Santa Fe steam locomotive 3751 Powered a round trip excursion train from Los Angeles to San Diego and back.This slideshow is my story from the trip.This was the first time a passenger train powered by a steam locomotive operated in San Diego since August 25 1953 when 3751 powered the last regular steam powered passenger train on the surfline to San Diego.And now 55 years later steam has been brought back to the surfline thanks to this trip pulled by the the oldest surviving 4-8-4 steam locomotive in the United States.Enjoy! feel free to leave comments
