Siena is famous for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape and the Palio, a horse race held twice a year.

    The Battistero di San Giovanni is a religious building in Siena, Italy. It is located in the square with the same name, near the final spans of the choir of the city's cathedral. It was built between 1316 and 1325 by Camaino di Crescentino, the father of Tino di Camaino. The façade, in Gothic style, is unfinished in the upper part, such as the apse of the cathedral. In the interior, the rectangular hall, divided into a nave and two aisles by two columns, contains a hexagonal baptismal font in bronze, marble and vitreous enamel, realized in 1417-1431 by the main sculptors of the time: Donatello , Lorenzo Ghiberti, Giovanni di Turino, Goro di Neroccio and Jacopo della Quercia . The church now serves as the Oratory for the Contrada of Pantera. Across the street from the belltower is the Palazzo Celsi Pollini. North along Pian dei Mantellini, toward the Arco delle Due Porte, and on the same side of the street are a number of palaces built around what was once the Monastery of the Derelict Women: in order they are the Neoclassical Palazzo Incontri, the Palazzo Ravissa and the Palazzo Segardi.

    San Pietro alla Magione is an ancient church on Via Camollia in Siena, Italy. Documents attest to a church at the site since 998. It is built in stone, and preceded by a stairs and a Romanesque bell portal. The austere interior was restored in 1957 and contains a Gothic tabernacle from the second half of the 14th century, a Madonna with Saints John the Baptist and Peter by Diego Pesco, fragments of frescoes by Cristoforo di Bindoccio and Meo di Pero. The chapel on the right was erected in 1523-26 as an ex voto for the passing of the plague; it houses a Martyrdom of St Donnino by Antonio Nasini, a fragment of a Madonna with Child attributed to Lorenzo Rustici.
