Skjern is a railway town located in western Jutland, Denmark with a population of 7,741 .It was the main town in the now abolished Skjern Municipality. From 2007 it is, with Ringkøbing, the co-administrative seat of Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality.Skjern is served by the Stauning Vestjylland Airport, where Danmarks Flymuseum displaying historic aircraft is also located. The statue of Holger Danske by Hans Peder Pedersen-Dan was moved to Skjern in 2013 from the Hotel Marienlyst in Helsingør after it was sold on an auction site.

The Danmarks Flymuseum is a museum located at Stauning Airport in Skjern, Denmark.It has a collection of around 70 aircraft from the period 1911 until 2000. Around 60 aircraft are on display. The collection includes gliders, fighter planes and helicopters. Many are still airworthy.The collection is considered part of Denmark's Air Force Museum as it hosts the collection of the Royal Danish Air Force.The museum has a restoration department which restores and maintains aircraft.Stauning Airport is also home of a yearly vintage aircraft rally.

The Jelling stones are massive carved runestones from the 10th century, found at the town of Jelling in Denmark. The older of the two Jelling stones was raised by King Gorm the Old in memory of his wife Thyra. The larger of the two stones was raised by King Gorm's son, Harald Bluetooth, in memory of his parents, celebrating his conquest of Denmark and Norway, and his conversion of the Danes to Christianity. The runic inscriptions on these stones are considered the best known in Denmark.

Kong Hans Bro - Skjern/Tarm - Denmark

Skjern is a market town in western Jutland with 7,506 inhabitants (2010) located in Skjern Sogn, ca. 7 km east of Ringkøbing Fjord.
The town lies in Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality and belongs to Region Midtjylland. Its name is named after Skjern River that runs just south of the city,
whose original name is derived from the adj. inserts, which means pure. Skjern is the second largest city in the municipality only surpassed by Ringkøbing
and also Denmark's youngest borough with rights from1958. Skjern neighbor is Tarm, located approx. 4 km in a southerly direction.
Skjern lies Kong His Bro. According to legend it was in midstream of river Skjern, between the Skjern and Intestine,
to King Hans' horse fell. He later died, probably of pneumonia, which he got from the cold water.
Kong Hans Bridge has become an important part of Skjern marathons, Skjern Å Running Challenge.

hvis oprindelige navn er afledt af adj. skær, der betyder ren. Skjern er den næststørste by i kommunen kun overgået af Ringkøbing
og desuden Danmarks yngste købstad med rettigheder fra 1958. Skjerns naboby er Tarm, beliggende ca. 4 kilometer i sydlig retning.
Ved Skjern ligger Kong Hans Bro. I følge legenden var det i vadestedet over Skjern Å, mellem Skjern og Tarm,
at Kong Hans' hest styrtede. Han døde senere, højst sandsynligt af en lungebetændelse, som han fik af det kolde vand.
Kong Hans Bro er blevet en vigtig del af Skjerns maratonløb, Skjern Å Running Challenge.
