Planica Nordic Centre is a nordic skiing complex with one ski flying hill, seven ski jumping hills and cross-country skiing track in Planica, Slovenia. It is the only nordic centre in the world with eight hills in one place and the only one of this kind with hills of all sizes at one place: small, medium, normal, large and flying hills. The origins of ski flying started in 1936 in Planica, when 18-year-old Austrian Josef Sepp Bradl became the first man in history to land a ski jump of over 100 metres . It is a place where the most of the ski jumping world records were set on two different hills, and also the historic first jumps over 100 meters by Sepp Bradl on Bloudkova velikanka and over 200 meters by Toni Nieminen on Letalnica bratov Gorišek. 2. Vogel Ski Center Bohinjsko Jezero
Vogel Ski Resort is a Slovenian ski resort located above Bohinj next to Lake Bohinj. The nearest city is Bled. Ljubljana is about an hour away. The resort was opened in 1964. It has a total of 22 kilometres of ski slopes, 8 kilometres tracks for cross country skiing and a snowboard park. The ski resort is located on the outskirts of Triglav National Park, therefore all snowmaking activities are forbidden on the area.

Cerkno is a small town in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It has around 2,000 inhabitants and is the administrative centre of the Cerkno Hills. It is the seat of the Municipality of Cerkno. It is known for the Laufarija carnival, a spring festival with carved wooden masks; for Franja Partisan Hospital ; for a Partisan hospital from World War II; and as a ski resort.

Maribor Pohorje Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, located just south of Maribor, at the mountain range of Maribor Pohorje in Lower Styria. The resort consists of three sections: lower section Snow Stadium, middle section Bolfenk and an upper section called Areh. The resort as a whole offers 42 km of north-facing ski slopes, 27 km of cross-country skiing, and 10 km of night skiing. It is best known for its Golden Fox competition, women's World Cup races in giant slalom and slalom, held since 1964.

7 Days in Slovenia

Welcome to Slovenia. This small country (the size of New Jersey) sits between Italy, Austria, and Croatia, and as you’ll see, is one of Europe’s raddest places to travel. We gave ourselves a week. Starting off in Lake Bled, we swam in one of the most postcard looking lakes you’ve ever seen before heading off to sail in the Adriatic. From here we explored the Soča Valley — a region with turquoise blue rivers and limitless adventure options. Farm to table food and family-run wineries are a way of life in Slovenia, and we were stoked to spend time with world famous chef Ana RoŠ from HiŠa Franko restaurant as well as Aleš Kristančič, the storied winemaker of Movia vineyards. Don’t overlook this country when thinking of your next travels to Europe.
